Managed Care Organization (MCO):

A health care delivery system consisting of affiliated and/or owned hospitals, physicians and others which provide coordinated health services, typically on a capitated, or fixed fee per patient per month, basis. Examples include Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs), Point of Service Plans (POSs), and Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs).
