Program Information:
The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) is administering Minnesota’s Medicaid EHR Provider Incentive Program. DHS is leading the effort to develop Minnesota’s State Medicaid Health Information Technology Plan (SMHP), in collaboration with the Department of Health and other stakeholder groups, to administer the Medicaid incentive payments for Minnesota’s eligible professionals and eligible hospitals. The state’s department of health will meet with stakeholder groups to receive feedback about the proposed plan as the plan continues to be developed. However approval from CMS must be obtained before Minnesota can begin to work on the system for receiving the federal incentives from the government and than receive the applications and calculate the incentives for each practice. DHS expects providers to be able to submit applications by the end of 2011.
