Program Information:
Both Medicare and Medicaid play key roles for the health care refunds within the state of Montana. Medicare is responsible for setting up and paying the incentives under the Medicare program, whereas the Medicaid incentive program in Montana is delegated to the State Medicaid Agency. The Department of Public Health and Human Services (Medicaid State Agency) is responsible for developing and implementing the Medicaid Incentive Payment Program. This department is in the initial stages of developing Montana’s program. In the near future it will be contacting all the practices in order to discuss their best interest in participating in the Medicaid Incentive Program. Furthermore, the information gathered from contacting the various hospitals and physicians will be used to develop a reimbursement plan with a federal partner, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
