Do you have what it takes to redesign patient medical records? This Friday (November 30th) is the last day to submit your designs for the Health Design Challenge!

The Health Design Challenge aims to redesign patient medical records.This project challenge is hosted by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. Through this competition they hope to have creative designers transform patient medical records that are in plain-text Blue Button file into a format that makes the information easy for patients to understand and improve the patient experience.

The following TEDMED video, It’s Time to Redesign Medical Data, is a great resource for this challenge. Thomas Goetz explains the problem with the current form of medical data. He argues that medical data is hard to access and read, but the information is important for consumers to understand.

He explains the crucial need to redesign medical data, so consumers can get more insight from them and lead healthier lives.
