He founded McMahon Orthopedics and Rehabilitation (MORe) in 2006 after serving 12 years in academic medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and the University of California, Irvine, where he was Director of Sports Medicine. Dr. McMahon has authored more than 100 publications and has been a speaker at numerous international, national, and regional meetings. He was awarded membership in Society of American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and of the Orthopaedic Research Society. He continues his research into improvements in treating shoulder instability and rotator cuff tears.
