Best physical Rehab place in Memphis area. This is the 2nd time my mother has needed rehab for a stroke. Both times she has received quality care. Every single staff member is friendly and positive. We have had relatives in other facilities, so we know good care when we see it. It is worth the extra drive to get your loved one in the right place.

Had a experience in this facility that was nearly fatal. I would greatly encourage you to seek Rehabilitation at another facility! Due to multiple escalated calls to corporate to reach outside the facility is nearly impossible. I drive past this facility and my stomach turns from the inside out! Truly learned what it meant to be an advocate for a parent.

** previous post **

Which parent corporation oversees the operations of this facility? Baptist, Kindred, Centre or another corporation?

Update: 10/17 I still have not received a response to my email that was sent to the email address below. Sent an additional email for 2nd response.

Finally - I received a reply from their office - that provided Baptist Rehabilitation Hospital is a joint venture between Centerre (subsidiary of Kindred Healthcare) and Baptist Memorial Hospital.

10/19 I responded to the email - asked how to raise awareness of our experience outside of Kindred and Baptist Rehabilitation Hospital. HaHa! Got a email from the director telling me to call Kindred compliance number. So I called so I could add onto our families experience! The lady on the phone gives me the number to the facility 😳 that I'm reporting my concerns about. I already have spoke with executives within the facility.. I want to discuss my concerns with those at an corporate executive level so my concerns will be addressed and the situation will not be swept beneath a rug!

10/19 I goggled the Baptist Compliance Corporate number and have filed a report to be contacted directly.

Hmm let's see what happens!

10/24 Still have not been contacted by Baptist.

11/02 Contacted by Kindred, but by the same representatives. When I requested to speak with someone outside of their office.

11/09 Still have not been contacted by Baptist.

Please know I have a true experience that needs awareness made in experience in this facility! This story vital to be shared outside of this facility.

My mother is 85, just released from Baptist Hospital June 4, 2019, admitted to Baptist Rehab at 6:30pm. She was rudely awoken this morning at 6:00am with a thermometer in her mouth, and a voice loudly exclaiming in a hateful tone, “OPEN YOUR MOUTH”! Is this the way you would treat a doctor?

My mom was admitted into Methodist Germantown over a week ago and her case worker and physicians recommended for my mom to go to a inpatient rehab. We were told there are only 3 in Memphis and to choose the one that is the most close to us and that would give her the aggressive therapy she needs....She has Medicare A and B and a supplement. Baptist turned my mom down with no reason why....my mom is very weak and has the symptoms of a patient that had a stroke. It's ridiculous how a team of physicians can recommend what is best for a patient and the family but Baptist Rehab is apparently looking at something else because they turned her down with no explanation why and if they reviewed her chart/records they would understand she is a great candidate. Situations like this make me wish I was wealthy and able to help out human beings. I would never turn a patient down for care, unless there weren't any beds left. Memphis please bring more options to the city!!!!!!!!!!!!!
