First time there, and definitely my last. Asked front desk for non-emergency. Should of told/warned me that Saturdays are emergency's only. I would have just went to the store for stuff, and came back Monday. was charged an extra $307 for a 7 minute ER visit... Told them girlfriends small cat bit, or possibly scratched my leg, and I'm allergic, leg swelled up. I come for help, I can hardly walk because im in pain, and need suggestions on what I can get at a local store that might help the swelling and what a good anti-bacterial cream would be , and they argue with me saying we should put the cat down, and make a police report. they give me an expensive prescription for some antibacterial pills... They didn't even help the situation with the swelling/pain or the infection, and the medicine they prescribed me, gave me the runs.... while at work.... I suffered greatly for like 4 days where it was just completely unbearable to walk, was like 8 PM, I asked a wal-mart pharmacist what he would recommend, told me ibuprofen , and even there Equate brand of anti-bacterial cream. Next morning all the swelling was gone, and my leg whet from like purple to just red, and then back to normal by the end of the day. Its better to just go to a local store for simple things, save money & live better. Besides broken bones & major surgeries , i don't even know why hospitals exist. They lie, and hide things , and charge you for things you don't need, and just want to take your money. it shouldn't cost you 120$ a minute... Casino's aren't even that expensive...

Don't waste your time, go to Gundersen. The ER doctors are incompetent. Had very clear signs of a bacterial infection in my UA, even clearer signs in the UA micro results, but the doctor diagnosed me with anxiety and nonspecific abdominal pain instead. I wasn't even informed by phone of the results and they acted as if the infection didn't exist. I would give 0 stars if I could, this is not how you deal with patients. Update: It's not just the ER doctors, it's all of them. I had to come in 4 times for a UTI they kept telling me didn't exist. I ended up with a kidney infection (Ureaplasma) that lead to a kidney stone that was caught in my bladder for several weeks. I had to go elsewhere to actually get treated. Mayo is lucky I didn't take legal action for this level of complete and utter incompetence. Doctors should know how to read lab results and learn how to order resistance tests to discover what a bacteria responds to, not just hand out random antibiotics or deny an infection exists. Bacteria should not be in a properly done clean-catch UA, PERIOD. Apparently some of the MDs there slept through that part of med school. In the end I was charged $3000 for a month of suffering without proper treatment, and that's with insurance. For a supposedly world-class hospital, they couldn't even properly diagnose and treat a simple UTI. What quacks.

Billed preventive visit for a 3 year old child as "by request by school". Insurance company declined payment and explained to me that the claim needed to be resubmitted as "preventive visit 1-4". Mayo customer service rep refused to correct the code and resubmit the claim, because it would be a "duplicate" claim. Meanwhile, the insurance company keeps on insisting the claim needs to be resubmitted. Catch 22.
