feedback about Sauk Prairie Hospital
Treatment and professionalism is as good as any other hospital. I like that they do follow up with a phone call to see how you’re doing after.
HOWEVER, I hate how they refuse to let family come back with you at the start. They say they’ll only do the triage with you before your family is allowed back with you. But unless you constantly ask for your loved ones to join you, they’ll keep you alone until you’re discharged or admitted into the hospital itself for an extended stay. I often have to convince loved ones to go to Sauk, simply because they don’t want to be separated at the waiting room. Sauk is the only hospital I’ve ever been to that has that policy. I’ve worked in EMS for 14 years, I’ve seen a LOT of hospitals. When emergency care is delayed, because loved ones have to be convinced to go to the nearest hospital (in this case Sauk), instead of driving to Madison or Portage, there’s a problem.
My Dad was a patient at Sauk Prairie Hospital for 2 days. A BIG THANK YOU to everyone, from the Front Desk, CNA, RN, Social Worker, Dr., and the young man that brought him his meals! Every person we met during his stay was empathetic, kind and thoughtful!!!
I would like to Thank Dr. Culp, Rhonda his Nurse and the lady at front desk for getting me in and out so quickly this AM. Made going to ER as painless as possible.
We've had 2 experiences here in the last month, one planned and one unplanned. Both times we've received excellent, compassionate care!
Went in there for a possible torn back muscle in excruciating pain. They just told me to take Ibuprofen and rest. For the urgent Care I'm going to be charged with a surprise $800 bill. I understand paying for service, but they treated me like a drug seeker and send me on my way. Heck, the Navy gave me way better care. So expect very little with a heavy bill.
