My dad has been treated so wonderful by all the staff. Thank you for being so kind to him.
My story, went in for my wellness mammogram in June to find out l had a lump. They called to tell me that l need a biopsy call your dr for a referral, ok did that and the dr office said we dont hand those out you come in here and will determine if you need that. REALLY l said. So l went back to the hosptial x-ray lab very upset she smile behind that counter took me aside and said let me see what l can do. I think l can cut some short cuts for you without the dr. She spent over half hour going from dept to another to get me the necessary appt for me in Boise in just 3 days. Again REALLY. My insurance doesnt require me to have a referral. Yes l did have Beast Cancer and today l found out that if I'd not come in as soon as l did it would of been a different out come. I owe her my everything for taking the time out of her busy day to help me get where l need to be. So l say to those with a negative thought about the hosptial rethink this they really do care. So that pretty face behind the glass window really love to help in the X -RAY LAB. Thank you for saving my life. The hospital has a great network of wonderful physicians. I woke up to a nice male nurse and my surgical team of 5 was all women times have changed. Thank you St. Lukes.
1 star is too much. My daughter was discharged from a hospital from out of town with seizures. Was driving through to boise when she started having bloody noses and went on for awhile. Stopped in to just get checked and the nurse didnt listen, put information down wrong and when he was telling another nurse about what was going on he told her wrong info so my husband stopped in to correct him and he yelled at my husband. Awful place. Do not go here. Everything you say won't matter.
Most of the ED "doctors" are cruel and uncaring. Treat me as if I am a drug addict/dealer and talk down to me the whole time. Made me wait for hours to get results that should take 30 minutes! I have documented proof of medical issues that not only do I have but are obviously getting worse. Not once have I asked for or even hinted at needing narcotics, I have requested non-opioid help, only to be told that what I have (health issues-wise), can only be taken care of with narcotics. Uh...?)The only reason they got a 2 star is a very small select pool of doctors and MOST of the nursing staff. Actual human beings who genuinely care about their patients. If you get someone other than the select few in the ED, run, hobble, roll, crawl away anyway you can, just get out!! The joking name of this hospital, given to it years ago by the people of Mountain Home and not precipitated by me but definitely agreed with: "Kilmore" Hospital. Choose for yourself....
Good docs: Dr. Crossley, Dr. Justin Smith, Dr. Lezartay
Good nurses: Aiyana, Aislinn, Sarah, Susan, Ambri, Michelle; there's a few others but those are the stand outs.
If you can make it to Boise or just avoid the hospital all together, do so!
(Another point against: SHARED rooms, one television, one bathroom, one remote. What about HIPAA? Privacy? You know, basic health (human) rights?
Absolute worst hospital in entire region. Staff is rude and incompetent to the point of being dangerous. They would much rather bs and gossip than help anyone. Has the nickname killmore for a reason. One good er doctor the rest suck beyond suck.. Save your life and your time go to st lukes in boise. If you have the misfortune of being brought here get transferred out as soon as possible. Place is a nightmare. Had hoped it would get better with st lukes taking over.. Looks better but same bottom rung staff.. Be better off going to a clinic in Tijuana than this place.
