Yesterday I saw an EMERGENCY room doctor named Dr. Pugh he was very quick and inconsiderate. I have never been treated worse and will be contacting someone to file an complaint. He came in asked me where my pain was pressed and said I'm going to do a cat scan for appendicitis he left the room never seen him again until he came to tell me my results, he cracked the door open gave me my results and left. Didn't even have the decency to step into the room. I felt like he was unprofessional and possibly doesn't care for African American people, that's why he didn't take the time out to actually be a doctor or look further at my concerns or take the time out to examine me.He is by far the worse physician I have ever seen in my life!
Dr Combs and Nurse Tiffany W were awesome. I was having a panic attack and making a scene. They kept me comfortable during and were very professional. My only complaints are that the cafeteria was closed and the sandwich offered is not my cup of tea so I basically starved. I’m used to hospital cafeterias being open later in my state. Also, there is no tv in the exam room. It’s very unnerving to not be distracted by something while lying in the hospital.
Went in because of severe pain of a hernia at this point I have no insurance. I was in there for an hour with no medicine for relief and then got discharged with again NO medicine for relief or help on what I needed to do next. The doctor had no bed side manner at all. I came in pain and left in even more pain.
The few more min. Drive to community is worth it. Do NOT go to this hospital.
Started having excruciating pain on my left side. Got to the ER at 9:22 pm. Waited an hour to go back to a room. A nurse came in to draw blood and start an IV for pain meds. After drawing blood she left saying she was going to get something for pain. An hour goes by and I see no one. I walk out hunched over in pain, the nurse walks out and asks if the pain medicine helped. I stated that I was never given anything. She apologized and we went back to my room. The doctor finally comes in while the nurse is giving pain meds. At this point it’s 11pm. Doctor says it’s a ruptured cyst on my ovary. I go back at 11:30 for a CT scan, they tell me they’ll “have results in 15 minutes and then the doctor would be in” I was back in the room at 11:45 and never saw anyone again until my husband starts walking the halls. A nurse comes in and apologizes and says the doctor would be in any minute. 2:30 rolls around and I’m fed up. I tell them I’m leaving. They take my IV out and say they’re going to give me AMA papers to sign. By the time the papers actually are given to me, it’s 3:30 and the doctor comes in. Tells me I have a kidney stone and he’s going to give me some scripts and discharge papers and I’d be out of there in 15 minutes tops. WRONG! After waiting in my room for what seemed like an hour, I stood outside of the nurses station for 20 minutes waiting to be told something and was completely ignored. Finally a charge nurse comes out with my scripts and discharge papers. She gives me a number to call because she agrees that there is no reason I should of been there as long as I was. All in all, it was 4:30 by the time I left and I will NEVER go back to that hospital again.
Not so good of a response time in the emergency room! Also it seemed like they were more worried about if my fiance had some kind of drug in her system then anything else! They already had blood and urine. Still insisted on asking over and over again "did you take anything" or "what did you take" (the answer was NOTHING) OVER AND OVER AGAIN! When we got to her room after being admitted and someone asking AGAIN. "WHAT DID SHE TAKE" We had to put up with a smart mouth nurse and the only thing we were asking for is a cup of water! Then the doctor kept telling us I'm going to release her. Then would come back saying she has to stay. Then she can leave, now she has to stay. Then it went from low blood pressure to now its low potassium then he ran test saying she had a blood clot and after a trip to our family doctor it turned out to be none of those things! If you cant get me to community hospital LET ME DIE! I thought after St. Vincent took over saint John's it would get better.
