I had an MRI done at Memorial Hermann today. I am very claustrophobic & was nervous about this. However, with help of a small pill and Gilbert I got through it just fine. Everyone I encountered was pleasant and helpful especially Gilbert. He, in my estimation, went out of his way to make me comfortable.

Everyone here is so incredibly kind, even first thing in the morning! From the front desk, to the nurses, to the techs. Great experience.

I cannot say enough bouta this place. From the lady at the registration desk Amy, to the sweet lady who took us up the elevator to our room, and then Carmen met us and greeted us, Elsa stayed a while and spoke to us and made us feel very comfortable as well, and then in walks Dr Ker Thompson. I asked him if he was my anesthesiologist and he politely said no but he is part of the anesthesia team. He talked to me about 10 minutes and was so nice and personable. And as Mike came in and finished the Pre op paperwork and vital signs.... He took his time to find a suitable site to place my iv. I was not aware that I was going to get a little lidocaine to numb the area..... It was a small stick and next thing was the insertion of the IV needle and catheter.... WOW, what a pro... One and done!!!!!he said I could thank the Medical Director for making it possible for patients at this facility to have a little dose of lidocaine at the injection site prior to insertion of the IV. I then asked who the medical director was because I thought he was totally awesome to do this for us because every facility doesn't offer it. He said the medical director was Dr. Kerr Thompson!! yes the Doctor who was talking to me and my husband for over 10 minutes was the actual Medical Director of the center. Can we all say concierge service!!! As I was wheeled into the procedure room.... I was greeted by Ron and another sweet young lady who all greeted me kindly and made me feel as if I was going to be in good hands. my ordering Doctor who was going to perform the procedure NEVER Once looked over at me OR came over to greet me before the procedure. I am appalled at his lack of common courtesy to greet his own patient. What a terrible bedside manner as he was only a few feet away from me the entire time. ....in the same room. That alone has prompted me to look elsewhere for another doctor.. there's no excuse for that. He kept his back to me the entire time....and waited until he was certain and got the okay that I was totally OUT before he came over to start the procedure. it gives you the impression that in his mind he is Holier than Thou. NOT!
