Billing nightmare. Husband hurt his hand and ended up in ER . Staff was great .We told receptionist that this happened on our property and it WAS NOT WORKMANS COMP. We have very good insurance, the x-ray bill was paid in timely manner , hospital bill same . The Dr. for some reason put bill in as workmen compensation (my husband hurt his hand on our property)and we got bill from them . We called hospital and explained our problems and they told us to call billing . I called billing and explained this was not a workmans comp accident it happened at home . Every time we got a bill we would call billing and explain that we had very good insurance and all they had to do was was to bill correctly. The billing department would either tell us they would take care of this or they would send it to be reviewed. This went around for months and months . After months the insurance company refused to pay because they were not billed in timely manner and we were told we were not responsible either .
Then we got a bill from a collection agency. We sent them all our information that span over month of bills and phone calls and now we wait.
If I could give zero and knew that calling and complaining about the group of nurses that where suppose to be caring for my son. He had high fever and before we knew it he had flu and pneumonia so the nurse doesn’t believe anything my wife is telling her keeps saying he is fine while O2 was 88. She tried to do strep test and my son 6 grabs the tester and she goes great now I’ll have to get another one and storms out! And every time the RN would ask my wife questions about my son she would instantly cut her off and say yeah ok... I was not there as I would have probably of lost it but my wife is to nice this is very unprofessional
Would give them (especially their ER Department) a 0 star if I could. Thanks to their incompetence I literally could have died. Ended up in CCU at another facility with an enormous medical bill.
My wife went there with an extreme allergic reaction (one that she has had before and well aware of) and she was told by Nurse Kaitlyn it wasn't happening and were very rude. Luckily we made it to the hospital in Sevierville were they proceeded to give her an adrenaline pen along with other measures before her throat literally closed up. This place is CLOSING for a reason. Horrible.
Do not take a pet rock to this hospital. It is not worthy of keeping it doors open...not even as a morgue...which is all it is now. They will be the next hospital to close and not soon enough.
