Let’s talk about ethics and HIPAA ...

Dr Denise Stretcher from Brevard Family Practice was treating me for PTSD related to abuse for the last year plus. Her husband Brian Stretcher is representing my abuser in our Domestic Violence case. My ex was never given access to my medical records by me, yet somehow he has accessed them and is trying to use this information against me in his defense according to detectives.

I want to thank all the fabulous people who helped me a few weeks ago when I foolishly tried to clean ice from my driveway and slid down the drive into a tree! My right hand was cut up and my left wrist broken in two places. No emergency care in all of my travels, (and Ive been around the world a bit), was ever so fast, helpful and good humored as the staff at Transylvania Emergency Room provided. The next day I had surgery in the same hospital and it also went smoothly and efficiently. I could not have had better care from any of the big name hospitals around the country. You Rock Transylvania Hospital of Brevard NC !

Through my experiences, the inpatient area has always been great. The emergency room facilities, not so much. I have experienced long wait times and in my opinion, sub standard treatment and extremely high prices. They once charge me $75.00 for ice put into an over the counter zip lock bag, (it was listed as an ice pack)... If it's not a true emergency, you would be better off going to an urgent care or an emergency room at another facility less than an hours drive away. If it is a true emergency by all means go here. You can always be transferred to another facility at your request. The emergency room has recently been updated so they may be better now but I have not talked to anyone that has been since the update...My experience from a Transylvania County resident....

Horrible experience with my Father when he was dying. Nurse was rude and lacked compassion. Bad experience in ER.
