I have had two recent experiences here, and both were negative and with the same doctor. The first occurred in april in the early morning, I was very sick and my boyfriend brought me in. I was given a chair, never a room with privacy. I was treated as if my symptoms were in my head, and the tests they "supposedly" ran came back negative. We left. Well my symptoms got worse overnight and so we went to urgent care the next day. They ran the same tests, and all came back positive. I was given antibiotics, an inhaler, and a cough suppressant. Thank you Urgent care. Flash forward to this week. I was having extreme esophageal pain after being in the hospital (wca) all weekend with an acute viral infection. I had a very deep cough and it hurt to breathe or swallow. The minute the same doctor walked in, he was EXTREMELY rude to both my boyfriend and I, invalidated everything i was feeling, even scolded me for explaining my symptoms and rolled his eyes as I did. It was obvious he couldn't wait to get out of there and even left the room in the middle of my boyfriend asking a question. He only left to tell the nurse that I was overreacting and talk s****, which we overheard. When the nurse came back in she was also rude, whereas before she had been nice. We drove an extra 30 minutes to this hospital at 3am because we thought the care would be better than our local hospital, not because we wanted to or got anything from it. The way we were treated was unacceptable, unprofessional, and honestly mean. I would not recommend this facility to anyone seeking treatment

Fabulous nurse and doctor. I ended up with four stitches and tetanus shot and couldn't be more pleased with the care I received. Quickly in and out. Nurse was most professional, kind, caring, attentive, and helpful nurse I've dealt with. Thank you for being there. noon 6/4/17

I recently went to the ER for shoulder pain because I hadn't been to my family doctor in four years and couldn't be seen quickly. I was treated by Dr. Philippe, who did a fine job of getting x-rays and a diagnosis. I was prescribed a steroid and knew that I had to follow up with a doctor. The next day, after realizing that I couldn't see another doctor quickly and that my pain was much worse, I called the ER to see if I could get a script for prescription strength ibuprofen. I spoke with a male in the ER who fields Dr. Phillipes calls who told me to just buy over the counter Motrin "honey", it's the same thing. As someone who had back surgery 14 years ago, I can tell you there is a difference between OTC and prescription Ibuprofen. I think that anyone who is going to give medication advice over the phone at the Westfield ER should perhaps be receiving training on pain management. He was condescending and likely assumed I wanted a stronger narcotic, but what I wanted was for him to hear me when I told him the 1500mg Extra Strength Tylenol every 6 hrs wasn't helping and he didn't hear that part. Therefore I give them 2 stars.
