South Florida Behavioral Health Network

The South Florida Behavioral Health Network (SFBHN), also known as Thriving Mind South Florida, experienced a data security event that affected certain information stored on its systems. On August 3, 2023, SFBHN became aware of suspicious activity on its computer systems and immediately took steps to secure the environment. An investigation with third-party specialists determined that an unauthorized actor gained access to SFBHN’s servers between August 1 and August 3, 2023, during which time certain internal files were obtained without authorization.

In response to the incident, SFBHN conducted a comprehensive review of the affected information to identify which patients’ and providers’ information was impacted. The organization provides management services to a network of providers offering care to individuals with substance abuse and mental health disorders in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties[1].
