How can an emergency dept. tell someone they cant be seen? I'snt there a law that states every person has a right to care??? That is some bulls*it!!! I hope you got some good lawyers and hope one of your family members has an emergency and they are sent away! This isnt a hospital, its private only!!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU KNOW SOMEONE ON THE PAYROLL!
Excellent care from reception to nursing to physicians. I can't praise then enough for my experience in OB. Compassionate, caring and professional, I had and have total confidence in Doctors Menge and Baker. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
I have been a patient at Bell for 10 years, and I'm done.
The long and short of it is that Bell is VERY expensive. Their billing methods are inscrutable.
I have two forms of excellent insurance and I still consistently get hosed on my out of pocket costs, particularly labs. I was naive to Bell's shadiness until recently because this summer, I had surgery (which also entailed two office visits) at OSF in Escanaba (80 miles from my home). Total out of pocket cost: $40.
Then I had two routine office visits with a blood draw at Bell (1 mile from my home). Total out of pocket cost: $370.
Same insurance for both.
Shame on Bell for their predatory and unethical business practices.
From now on, I'll make the drive.
Went into er over memorial weekend with hives from am allergic reaction. Told them it wasn't an anaphylactic reaction and almost felt like it wasn't being treated like an emergency even though I was covered in hives on my chest, neck and face. I was the first person in the waiting room when I arrived. Almost two hours later and 3 patients before me later I got into a room. Then once in the room another hour passed and I heard someone say had the patient with hives been seen yet!? I knew that my condition could be a quick fix because it wasn't my first time in the er for an allergic reaction... Yet I sat and waited I understand they were busy, understaffed and did the best they could but my situation could have become worse as I waited to be seen. I may think twice about going to the er at this hospital again when I'm having a reaction from an unknown source.
Horrible service, dr lenords orthopedic office takes days to answer the phone and call someone back. Doesn't follow thru like they say they will. No considerstion for a patient having to travel 2 hours and schedule survery at 6 am when they are a single parent with a 2 year old. They dont inform you, you will have to drive back to the hospital 2 hours, to pick up a prescription, and then they promise to mail it ans 2 days of zero pain meds and there is no prescription in the mail. Several phone calls and they still refuse to pick up the phone.
