I received exceptional care with my emergency appendectomy. The entire staff was informative and caring. I can't commend them enough!

Recently had total knee replacement at Bell. Had all my pre-op done there, right down to a stress test. Was so very pleased with all the staff, that I was ready to make Bell my health care provider. Everyone was so kind and caring right thru recovery. Once I hit Acute Care my opinion of the place kind of went sour. The first couple hours I was checked on frequently, but after that I felt like I was just an inconvenience to the staff. When I told them I had to go to the bathroom they said can you make it on your own, I am like how do I know, I just had my knee replaced, you tell me. Was told I would see therapy twice that 1st day, never seen them till almost 24 hours later when they come to discharge me. Then it seemed like they couldn't get me out of there fast enough, they failed to pull my IV. THAT WAS REMOVED IN THE CAR IN THE PARKING LOT!!!! Not to impressed with the hospital, unless I just caught them on a bad day.....

So I was seen for a medicine change because a medication I'm on made me have horrible stomach cramps. All they did was tell me to suck it up! And "you gotta take the medicine!" I F****** HATE THIS ER! I still have to take then meds because the uti I have could back up into my kidneys. But it hurts! Cures one thing but hurts another. They could have gave me Amoxicillin! Instead of the medicine that makes me have cramps. That's backdrum. I'M DONE WITH BELL! YOU WONT SEE ME AGAIN!

Make sure that you can pay. If you're on a limited budget, like I am, and need time to pay, THEY DO NOT CARE !!! They will send your accounts out for collection. Also, when you do pay, they ignore the account number on the check and will apply the funds to whatever account they choose. They blame their policies on LifePoint, but will not provide any contact info for whoever it is at LifePoint that sets these policies. I have paid hundreds on accounts that never saw the funds. If you question it, they will get rude and claim that LifePoint legal will get involved. Some of the accounts that they want me to pay are 9 years old !!! They are from when Bell was non profit. Bell enjoyed a different tax status then. I do not believe that LifePoint purchased Bell without zeroing the books. They have changed a lot. I used to live in Marquette, yet travel to Bell. Now, I live in Ishpeming and, other than my PCP, labs, and x-ray, I travel to MGH

This is such a nice hosptial. Big clean private rooms. ALL of the staff that took care of me were outstanding! I was in the best surgical hands with Dr. Kelly Menge and Dr. Gina Sternschuss. I highly recommend these wonderful women doctors and their staff.❤️ I will ask to have my medical needs taken care of here in the future. Thank you very much Bell Hospital. I hope you appreciate your staff as much as I did. ✌️&❤️
