As many others have explained, I have dealt with a ridiculous amount of billing issues over the last four years with Cox Branson. I clarify Cox Branson because we have never had these issues when using Cox North in Springfield. My wife has been billed twice for visits and has been swayed to agree for visits based upon supposed "affordability". She also has Cox Health Insurance, which is also very unclear on what is covered and what is excluded. Each time one of these issues arose, we would contact the billing department and a "review" was conducted only to conclude that nothing would change on her account balance. All of this to say, I do not recommend this hospital to anyone. They have taken advantage of being a monopoly in Branson and have made many people angry, but as Mercy is now creating a Branson location, I recommend you take your business there. Please understand that I am only giving this one star because Google wouldn't allow me to put zero.
Over the last four years I have had so many issues with CoxHealth Branson. Numerous times I have been billed for procedures or tests that I had without consent from me or I never got. The latest issue was I went to an appointment with a physician (not at the Outpatient Center). I originally denied a service from my physician until the assistants tols me the procedure would be affordable and less than $100 total. So, I went ahead and go the procedure because of the information I was given. A week or two later I received 2 bills one was my copay for my physician visit (which i was expecting) the second was from the Outpatient Center saying that the procedure I got done that I was swayed into getting, and the one that was supposed to be under $100 was actually $600+ (my insurance covered a lot of it, but It still said I owed $200). I called and got a review on the bill and tried to dispute it only to recieve a call back a week later that "you should have never been quoted a price for the procedure they are not allowed to do that, but you will still have to pay the $200. All that being said I will NEVER step foot in a CoxHealth again. They are taking advantage of their Monopoly here in Branson and they are very greedy. I would recommend anyone who needed to see a doctor, go to Urgent Care or Hospital go to Mercy. Thank goodness they are expanding into Branson. They already have many doctors offices and an Urgent Care up and running.
My dad was hospitalized at Cox Branson for severe internal bleeding while we were there for a last little vacation for my parents. From the ER to the ER holding, to the docs and nurses, to the ICU staff and Dr McGyver(sp?), we had outstanding, excellent, compassionate care. I have been in 3 states and many hospitals through the years with my parents health issues and Cox Branson is so far above the rest it was far and above the best. Ever. Our gratefulness to all who cared for my Dad.
I love my doctor and the staff. They always go above and beyond to help me.
