feedback about Holy Family Hospital
My wife had her surgery at holy family and the staff was wonderful. Doctors and nurses were great and very perfesional. Thank you
I live in Methuen and have never received less than the very best professional care from both the doctor's and nurses at Holy Family Hospital, Methuen. A while back I drove myself the half mile there (not too smart I know) as I was having a heart attack due to clogged arteries (plaque). It was 2:00 AM in the morning when I walked into the Emergency Room. The Hospital got all the required personnel assembled and called in early that morning - and by 4:00 AM I was in the operating room having stints placed in my arteries - which saved my life. I think that is sincere dedication and am eternally grateful to Holy Family Hospital. I also like the fact that priests and sister's can be asked for to administer Holy Communion.
I came here back in 2012 when I began expressing severe symptoms a schizophrenia. I hadn’t been on any medication for over 8 years. For those 8 years I guess I was lucky enough to not have suffered any severe symptoms. I had stopped taking them because I had tried a great variety or other medications and none of them were working either because the side effects were zombifying or because they aggravated my symptoms.
On a side note, it can take years to find the right medication, so don’t give up!
Come late 2012, my symptoms had become unmanageable. I was falling apart. And things at home weren’t going at all well because of it.
The last chance I had was to admit myself to a psychiatric hospital and give treatment another try, so I ended up at Holy Family which is close to home.
My first impressions of this hospital were good. The staff were kind and helpful, the place was clean, and they really went out of their way to help me.
The hardest part was working with my doctor though as he was the one who prescribed me with the medication I’d be taking from now on. After a week or two of diagnosing the problems, my assigned doctor was confident in choosing which medication to try. Being at the end of my rope and wanting to make things at home better, I decided to accept my team’s treatment plan for me.
Finally, after almost 20 years of searching for the correct medication to treat my schizophrenia, my doctor tried the right one. Minimal side effects and barely any symptoms (well, no really serious symptoms) or interactions with my other medications.
And my relationship with my family is better than it had been for a long time.
I believe Holy Family Hospital really cares about their patients and I’m thankful I had the opportunity to receive treatment there.
Does not seem professional at all. Although last year when I had my gallbladder out, everything went well. The doctor and nurse was great all the way through. Today when I call to try and get an update on my fiancee because she had back surgery scheduled at 7. I called at noon to see if I could try and get an update and the lady had asked me if I was one of the people that's on the contact list to call and told her yeah. Well she said "then she's still in surgery then and will call when it's all set" and before I can say something, the phone hung up on me.
They are rude, inconsiderate, they act totally clueless 99 percent of the time. I came in for a bad fall pregnant and was treated like a piece of garbage. Had to wait 5 hours to see a doctor even though I voice my concerns. Asked for a sandwich after getting sick and was brought a pack of crackers, while the nurse said oh did you want something other than this? Like as if I was the inconvenience . Sorry me and my growing baby we’re hungry. The ER staff is miserable and I would never ever ever recommend this hospital to anyone. Drive the extra 5 minutes to Lawrence general. P.S. THE BIRTHING CENTER IS THE ONLY POSITIVE. They all deserve their jobs the rest of the hospital I don’t even know how they’re doctors.
