feedback about Kent County Memorial Hospital
ER & ER waiting room/triage check in staff are horrible! Checked in & nurse taking info & vitals was extremely rude & not an ounce of empathy! After sitting in ER for over 1 & 1/2 hrs where ER was full w/people waiting & nobody was called back @ all in that time, I was smart enough to leave...was in & out of Miriam hosp in Providence in under 2 hrs total time. DO NOT USE KENT ER UNLESS YOU HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE, they are not a hospital that puts patient care as a priority (this is obvious when you sit there only to see 5 employees constantly standing in a group doing nothing but laughing & joking)! I s/b able to leave rating w/out any stars as they do NOT deserve any!
This is the worst hospital I have ever seen in my life. I have been to Rhode Island and Hasbro within my lifetime a lot more than Kent and I must say I HIGHLY RECOMMEND EITHER FIRST. Me and my fiancee went there at 2 am in the morning because she was having trouble breathing due to bronchitis and waited 4 hours for them to literally prescribe her some generic cough medicine I could have gotten at CVS for much cheaper. Right upon entry, both security and this man who is employed under this weird concept of having an examiner who sits in a room to the right of the waiting room were very rude. The examiner looked at her for less than 2 minutes and then told us to wait. We waited 3 hours for a room. Not a single member of their hospital staff came and said a single word to us. After 3 hours they finally took her in with no apology or reason for the wait. We sat in their for 45 minutes just for her to be prescribed a Robitussin-esque medication. They took another 30 to give us the prescription and the "doctors note" excusing her from work. On the way out we noticed they never gave her the note which we presumed would be in the lazily, poorly written packet they gave us and had to go back inside to get one. When we approached the guy in the room to the right there was a girl in there now who I made eye contact with and proceeded to blatantly ignore us and pretend we weren't there. I ended up tapping on the window and she responded very rudely. We told her our situation and she said she would have a nurse bring it out shortly. After 15 minutes, I saw the nurse literally write it herself and I'm presuming she didn't do it before because she was apparently preoccupied with talking to the guy. This minor condition they said she had was also worse as when we went to the Garden City Health Clinic they prescribed her a more appropriate medication and we were in and out in less than 25 minutes. She also had much worse bronchitis than Kent said. Also inside Kent, there was just about 5 people in rooms throughout. Very disorganized. Very unhappy with them. Very much agreed to if I got hit by a car outside Kent and my legs were crushed, just crawling to a local Health Center or Rhode Island Hospital. I trust Kent Hospital as much as I trust Hilary Clinton with my important e-mails.
By far worst experience every time I come. I have had the worst nurse after sitting waiting for a room for 10 hours. This rude and unprofessional woman argued with me about my medications and questioned how sick I am and how much pain I am in. Tried telling me I didn't need my insulin before eating when my blood sugar was almost 300. It's sad that in the medical field there are people like this woman working here making sick people frustrated and stressed on top of being sick. Last time I come to this hell hole.
Absolutely amazing! I love everything about my experience here. First time going here they comforted me through my process. Asked me if i needed anything constantly and made sure i was ok start to finish. I wish I remembered the doctors names because they were phenomenal thank all of you for everything. This hospital is highly recommended !!!
Worst hospital in the state. I will avoid at all costs even if that means dying. I had blood drawn there for a specialist and didnt receive a bill until 6 months later. This happened twice and totalled over $400 for simple blood tests. I was then hounded for the money month after month while I spent time with my ailing father in a nursing home. I just paid that bill today after he passed last night. I hope they all choke on it.
