I had my VNS surgery here and I had an awesome experience. The nurses were so kind and caring. The surgeon I had was very nice. The hospital itself is very nice and well maintained. I would highly recommend and if I ever had to have another procedure done would want to have it done at Memorial.
Overall a really great hospital! They have generously helped me write off a few very hefty medical bills that I was unable to take care of myself, as well as their staff are kind and service generally excellent. I have visited some friends staying in the hospital and noted the staff were very caring and compassionate. I have been to the outpatient services (imaging and lab) myself, and the staff were helpful and courteous. I have also coordinated a number of clinical referrals from my job in a local clinic and can say the staff working in scheduling are also very helpful. In my opinion, a quality hospital in the Chattanooga area.
This hospital helped me beyond any other in Chattanooga. Although, my time spent in the ER was kind of long, the staff there was very courteous and caring.
Just about everyone I came in contact with ended the discussion with a common question: "is there anything that I can do for you?" That in itself speaks milestones of how treatment staff with a servant's heart should be.
I just got out a couple days ago, and although I'm still sore, I'm very greatfull for the work that was done on me.
If I could give Memorial Emergency room a ZERO, I would. My Father N Law who is almost 88 years old, was taken to the Emergency room on Friday August 30th with stroke symptoms and they let him sit in the emergency waiting room for almost 4 hrs. during which they only took his vital signs. At that point, he was taken to another hospital, which they took him straight back and started working on him and doing test. As of today Sept. 4th he remains in the hospital with damage from the stroke. Everyone knows, time is important during a stroke. By the time he got to the other hospital, his eyes had crossed.
Memorial can not even explain to us why this happen or who dropped the ball on this. All they have said is, I'm sorry. My Father N Law has always been treated by memorial, but at this point, I have had all his records transferred to the other hospital.
Where to start. The facilities were old and I had some reservations about proceeding after sitting in the lobby. The billing staff were not very knowledgeable and completely botched the estimated cost of my procedure. Customer service is pretty bad. The medical staff were solid. Like most hospitals, the charges for basically anything are astounding.
