Absolutely wonderful doctors here but unfortunately the front staff are extremely rude and unprofessional. I have never felt so unhappy with the way that they treated me, even after making a mistake with my appointment. When someone needs to go in for an MRI and X-ray you would think that the staff would be a bit more helpful and kind to the patient instead of turning you away for an appointment that you made because the receptionist did not complete it right in the system. So disappointing.
I'm not sure what the problem is, but it seems like every single medical center or office has terrible staff. This place is no different. They claim that they return calls within 1 business day, but it's been 3 business days and still no return call. I scheduled an appointment after a referral from an NYU GP two and a half weeks in advance. TWO DAYS before the appointment, I get an email thanking me for scheduling two x-rays that I did not schedule and had no idea what they were for. I called the office for an explanation and all I got in response was that the receptionist had no idea what was going on and that she refused to tell me who the nurse was who scheduled appointments for me without telling me. That is not legal, and completely unprofessional. She rudely told me that the nurse would call me, and then hung up on me. The nurse never called me. It's been 5 days. I tried to call to figure out what was going on, and I just keep getting the run around. I haven't even had any interaction with the medical professionals and I am already left with a terrible impression of this center. Please consider training your staff, or even making any attempt to screen them for competency before hiring them.
A medical building , with friendly staff and; for whom speak bi- lingual languages. As for the medical doctors, I felt comfortable and relaxed; a sense of calm....
I had two knee replacement surgeries at NYU.
My surgeon Scott Marwin is brilliant and did a great job.
The support staff, is horrible
many are not proficient in English.
After I woke from my surgery my bladder was bursting. they kept me waiting for nearly one hour for the bedpan, the male nurse was so annoyed that he had to help me, he thrust the pan under with such force, the pain was terrible, then he kept me waiting for another 45 min.
to remove the pan. you cannot imagine how painful this is after surgery.
He managed to spill the contents of the pan on the bed.
so I asked him for a new sheet
or least a paper sheet.
He told me there where none. I asked him for ice for my swelling knees he said there was none.
This is not the care you want coming out of surgery.
While I was in the recovery rm...
Several nurses where having a party and making lots of noise.
These people have no respect or concern..the nurse who was attending me totally ignored this and continued her candy crush game...while she collected a nice hourly wage.
The pain meds they give you. simply do not work.
I don't know where they are manufactured. but they do not work.
the toilets reek of urine.
when I complained to the cleaning woman, she could not understand me, as she was Russian.
stay away from this place it is dispecible.
I saw Dr. Elizabeth Barchi after spraining my ankle in a dance class. She immediately made me feel comfortable in the office. As a former dancer herself, she knew exactly how to help me without asking me to take time off from dancing, but also making me conscious of how to take care of it while continuing to dance. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Barchi if you're a dancer or other athlete and worried about seeing a doctor who knows nothing about your profession.
