The police were called to my mother’s home for a noise complaint (as opposed to just knocking on the door and speaking with us themselves because they’re cowards). 10 police officers showed up to her home, and came inside. They made an outrageous, despicable, unconscible claim that I was beating my elderly mother. They walked through the house even though they didn’t have a warrant. They brought me to the kitchen and said they just needed an explanation of what happened and they would leave. They spoke with my mother separately in the hall outside. My mother told the police the truth which is I was yelling about a situation that occurred earlier and I was angry because she accused me of stealing her car and trying to leave the state. We were about to resolve the situation (I’d taken her car before and typically she allows me to because I’m either running errands for her or myself which are usually job related. She was only upset because I had a friend she’d never met in the car with me). The couches in the living room were turned over because we were cleaning them because the pet cat peed all over them and they were smelling up the house. The officer pointed to the couches and asked if I didn’t hurt my mother then why were the couches turned over. I told him we turned them over because we were cleaning them. My mother corroborated what I said, but instead of leaving they told me I was either going to jail or the hospital. This was a shock to me. I didn’t have a choice in the matter. They clearly didn’t believe either one of us because I figured they thought she was covering for me and I was lying. They manhandled me into the back of an ambulance. I was taken to Palos Hospital where I was assaulted by their staff. They brought me to the psych department even though I wasn’t a threat to anyone. They took my belongings and they fought me to take medicine I needed to take at the time. A vindictive nurse called security on me and about 8 grown men forced me on a bed, strapped me down, and put a bag over my head and closed the door. It was the worst experience of my life and I believe I have PTSD from the incident. I will be suing both the police department and Palos Hospital. These people are racist, callous and and a danger to the public.
I have battled issues with my health for as long as I can remember, and now it's my husband that needed the help, and I was amazed watching how both quick and efficient they were at managing his situation and his needs with a sense of sincere care & urgency. They are truly on top of things--they do not waste any of your time waiting around for their service, for results, etc. and they do their absolute best to keep you educated and aware of your medical situation and finances at all times. We got here at about 6am and his appendix was out and he was ready to recover in the hospital room before 1:30. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful customer service all around--from the nurses, to the doctors/surgeons, to the front desk and security at the door.
The ER is horrible. The nurses don’t wash their hands. They don’t wear gloves. They refuse to give patient updates. They are rude and have an attitude. I have been a nurse for over 8 years and I will never go to that ER ever again. They put patients in the hallways if they run out of room. Doctors are great. Nurses are horrible.
My moms treatments are here. When I come along and see how great everyone treats her, it makes me feel great that they are taking the time to care. Thank you for making it easier on my mother.
Good nursing. Great food. Very clean.
