I went to the SBMC with a broken great toe and the 1st Metatarsal. Which petty much means a broken foot. My other foot was sprained. They put me on Fast Track , did the exam, x-rays, and treatment. I was out the door in less than 2 and a half hours. Everyone was kind and they always respected my dignity. Top of the line hospital.

I don't understand the way we are billed in this hospital. For Emergency Medical services is a separate bill that we receive a month later. It's a shame because I think it could work better but not knowing how much I will be charged up front (even when asking several people beforehand), makes everything feel like a big scam. All the costs should be anticipated because is not a small bill. And not only I discover new charges 2 months later, the charges are just crazy high...

So far this is one of the worst hospitals I have ever stayed at. I traveled to this hospital because I have been seeing multiple neurologists for my son. We are staying in the hospital for Video EEG monitoring. The first EEG tech that came in took over an hr to put the leads and still didn’t get them in the correct spots. The net goes under the child’s neck and my son threw up on the net so I just put that part on top of his head. I asked for an EEG tech to come and change and check the leads. It was never done. Some of the nurses don’t seem like they know what they are doing. I am a mother who never leaves the bedside so the fact that no parent trays are given or that parking passes are not given and parents have to spend money and leave to get food when they are already going through enough with their child being in the hospital is disheartening. Parents should be focused on their child and not trying to figure out where they can go to eat or if they have enough money to even buy food. I had a private room with a private bathroom and as soon as I opened the door there was a strong smell of urine. I had to clean the floor myself with wipes and spray it with my perfume. I did not expect this from this hospital.
