Having a difficult time trying to settle a bill for services in 2015. It has taken 3 1/2 years to receive the 1st bill and they want to send to collections if I don't pay it immediately. Itemized statement is not correct. 11 items charged total a little over $2000 and their total says a little over $8000. Asked for a correct one and received identical itemized statement. Referred to Medicare and medicare Supplemental Insurance Info is archived due to the length of time from date of service. Referred to medical records which sends me back to billing.
Billing is a nightmare.

Don’t go here, for heart issues anyway. They looked for hours getting a cardio doc after my arrival. Three days later, it took them all day to find someone to discharge me. I believe an assistant of some sort eventually signed off on the paperwork though I don’t believe it was even a doctor. Thank God I wasn’t there because of a massive heart attack.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I took my son to the ER over a year ago and they apparently they never updated my mailing address, even though I filled out all new forms indicating a new address. The outstanding bill from after the insurance never reached me. Instead of wondering why I never paid, they sat on it for a year and I just pulled a collection bill out of the mail. I tried calling the St. Joseph billing department to work this out without turning this over a collection agency, but was told sorry for you luck and I should have checked with my insurance company to make sure it was taken care of. I would never recommend St. Joseph Hospital to anyone.

My daughter just got back from the ER and she had a terrible experience. She was experiencing severe chest pain, shortness of breath, and dizziness, and was made to wait in the waiting room for hours. The staff really needs to learn the definition of the word "triage," as a person who had cut her finger and someone who was seen for arthritis were taken in before her, even though she had checked in several hours before. Thank God she wasn't having a heart attack or had a blood clot in her lungs, or she'd probably be dead. The nurse was also rude to her, very nasty attitude, the short fat one who was wearing a face mask. Will never be going here again.

Had table tilt procedure then couple months later stents placed in heart - care was exceptional BUT billing has been driving me crazy for months. Can’t understand why my account can’t be finalized within three/four months. They charge penalties if payment isn’t received quickly but we can’t penalize them if their billing take YEARS.
