I have had the same issue with the billing department. I have talked with them and the insurance company repeatedly about a bill. The insurance company told St Joes how to submit the claim to get paid, yet I still received the same bill. I called about 6 months ago and I was told not to worry about the bill, it was fine. A week ago, they sent the bill to collections and now I have to have all those conversations all over again.

If I were able, I wouldn’t give any stars. 5 years ago, I had a miscarriage, a horrifying experience. This hospital charged my insurance and I for an abortion. My husband and I had to jump through hoops to “fix” the issue. When all was said and done, we were told that the insurance company would be billed again with the correct codes. After I all these years, we are now being harassed by a debt collecting agency for money to pay the original bill. So, thank you St. Joseph East for all the lies and making me pay for an abortion that I never had. I will never return to such an awful place!

By far the worst hospital, the Doctor, gave me a prescription of Citalopram after one visit to the emergency room for strained muscles Citalopram is a last resort medicine for severe depression and for people that have had exposure to anthrax. Thank God for the pharmacist at Walmart told me not to take this medication I noticed she had looked at me very strange and asked me what was wrong I told her the doctor was supposed to give me muscle relaxers then she asked me have I been seen for clinical depression I told her no I never have she said whatever you do do not take this medication.

I did not even want to give them 1 star. They do not deserve even 1 star. I would never recommend working with them. We have been trying to settle a bill for months and they have told us on multiple occasions that they do not make mistakes. Our insurance said it could be a simple fix, but again St. Joseph does not make mistakes! My family and I will change our doctors and will recommend them a good review to anyone. It is shameful that an organization cares so little about their patients and will not work with them at all! It appears they only care about the money!

Nice staff. Poor administration. My dad waited over five hours for his release while everyone just sat around. Nobody even came in to update him on what was going on.
