This will most definitely be the last time I deal with this hospital. So I’m in labor and delivery and it’s almost midnight and I hear construction work going on right above my room. Let alone I just put my baby to sleep. Why on earth will they pick this time at night to want to start drilling and beating on s***. Then when I address it to the charge nurse on the floor she wants to act like it’s no big deal. If I wasn’t here in labor and delivery with my new born . I would have walk out of the damn place with no problem... this is just ridiculous.

This is one of the most lowest hospitals I've ever been in . There is no type of rush to help people in pain. No rush nor feel yhe need that people have life outside of this hospital. the doctors dont care about your personal life . They put people before you and there is no type of order . I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL TO ANYONE UNLESS YOU REALLY NEED TO GO

On November 7th,2015 I went rushed to the ER for a suicidal attempt and was put in an isolation room for watch. The front desk for the area was right outside my door. There was screaming for her mom, so my mom asked one of the nurses and it was a 17 year old female who had been arrested from someone's property (she had been showing there), and you can tell that she had Bipolar Disorder. They kept moving her rooms, and kept getting closer to mine. They eventually put her in the room next to mine. (I had been there for 7 hours waiting on the next thing already). As my mother was filling out the papers to send me to inpatient (i was 15). We both heard one of the nurses go into the young lady's room and I quote say" Your mom doesn't want you". My mom stopped signing and tore it up and we went home. Terrible and rude nurses. My ended up going to the hospital 4 hours later and eventually had to have a hip replacement surgery. the surgery went smoothly and was supposed to be healed in around 4 months or less. It never healed (8 months in). We had to go to a different doctor and they replaced it once more, and the other hip as well. in around 4 months he could easily walk without pain and could go back to work. I DO NOT EVER RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL.

I broke the joint in my elbow on March 13, 2013. For my surgery, they had to cut into my arm near the elbow and put it back together. The surgery itself went smoothly. One second I was awake in the operating room, the next I was awoken shivering in the recovery room. There was a nurse right there who brought me an extra blanket. I get back to my room and ate a bag of pretzels only to get sick a few minutes later. They stitched me up and put me in a half cast. I had to go back a few weeks later to get the stitches removed. I've never broken a bone, so I have never needed stitches so I didn't know what they were supposed to look like during and after they're taken out. I thought it looked awful. As the wound healed and an ugly looking scar developed, I thought it looked very sloppy. Even all of my close friends and family agreed that it isn't supposed to look like that (including some nurses). I waited it out to see if maybe it would change, but 5 years later and it still looks the same. I also noticed the bone in my elbow sticks out significantly more than my other elbow and every time I extend my arm I feel it pop and I don't know if that is how it's supposed to be, but I know for sure the scar should not have healed looking that way. I heard a lot of negative comments on DePaul and they have a bad rap as far as I know, but I just hoped they would fix me. Even though they technically did; it was sloppy work and I don't think the surgeon knew all of what they were doing or they just didn't care. I wish I knew that surgeons name. I will update this review if/when I find out. if you can go to a different hospital, I would. Now I have to go on with an ugly looking scar on my body for the rest of my life because I trusted the wrong person/place.

This hospital is hella ghetto. I came here to the ER because I was having complications with my pregnancy and I had to wait 30 mins to go up to the labor and delivery when Mercy sent me to their Labor floor immediately. There was trash everywhere and even chicken bones on the floor. The nurse was sweet but the doctor looked annoyed and irritated and rushed me out and told me to take Tylenol and go home. The rooms are so outdated its ridiculous and there was mold and trash in the ER restroom. I didn't want to touch anything because I didn't want to get MERSA!!! I am soooooooooo happy that I elected not to give birth here because SSM DePaul ER is a dump. I love my Ob Gyn at SSM but the ER is to be avoided at all costs. Only go to the medical offices.
