This is by far the best hospital and I only bring myself, my family, and my children here! I was sent home from an ER( did not go there by my choice) 2 days in a row saying I needed to walk off my pain or just take ibuprofen. They said I was fine. I could not eat I could not walk. I was in constant pain & continuously vomiting. Came here to find I had an inflamed appendix and lesions on my ovaries! They were thorough, kind, courteous, and just amazing. The same hospital that sent me away sent my father away saying he was pain seeking. He stroked the next day. When they brought him here they saved his life! This hospital from the doctors, to the environmental services is top knotch! Always amazing!

Worst Hospital ever! Do not go to emergency room if you are truly needing help cause it WILL TAKE THEM FOREVER TO SEE YOU! UNBELIEVABLE HOW SLOW THEY OPERATE! I definitely suggest skipping Hobart and going to Methodist in Merrillville..... you'll wait forever here!

This is one of the worst EMERGENCY ROOMS that I have ever been in the nurse's we alright staff friendly but the doctors were horrible. Very poor bedside manner. I have several health problems and she did nothing to help. Gave me baby aspirin took 4 1/2 to put in IV don't know why order a CT SCAN on my head I was having chest pain. And left with chest pain. Several days later after releasing me and dr Dimitri telling me I was good to go I checked my chart and my test results came back abnormal. SMH this is not my first time with her and her less than doctor skills. Hopefully she can save a life. I will not go back there if I have a choice I have no faith in them I have appointment with my cardiologist. Still sick still having pain shame on her for not contacting my doctor and leaving me suffering and worry. Stress isn't good for my lupus. So hopefully if you go with chest pain you get the right result when you leave the paper work they had me sign was BS I told the nurse this isn't what I came in with I came in with chest pain and they had numbness. I guess they can put what ever they want. Sad sad sad. I photo shot it all and gave it to my family just in case something happens to me. Thanks for reading BEWARE

Not shocked to see these reviews. My family has had too many bad experiences at this place. My oldest daughter went in because she was very sick sore throat, no energy, fever, etc. They told her she had strep but never tested her. Prescribed antibiotics and ooops she had MONO which antibiotics will make worse. I went in myself from a fall I had and the doctor treated me like I had some horrible disease she was going to catch. She never even came into the room, she stood in the doorway asked a few questions and left. The billing lady came to complete that process and I told her they are not billing my insurance for anything because she didn't do anything. She gets the doctor and doctor says it's sprained gives me a shot of morphine and a Walker sends me on my way. Well, She was wrong my FEMUR was broke. She never offered and xray but said she did when I called to complain. She said I turned it down... what sense does that make? First thing I would expect is for them to do an xray. 3rd and last incident was just last week... my youngest daughter 20 years old type 1 diabetic went to the hospital with multiple complaints of her back and stomach problems, her resting heart rate was over 150 and they sent her home. Next day she went to another hospital and was diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism ( a blood clot in her lung) this could have killed her. She was on the verge of having a stroke. These doctors are ignorant as they come. Looking for a pay check and could give 2 craps about their patients.

All of my doctors are out of the Community Healthcare network. I've been to this particular hospital for cancer care and have had great experiences. My nurses were great. The doctors at the hospital were thorough and explained things well. I actually prefer this hospital over Community in Munster. Although both are great and have great staff. Highly recommended.
