All of my doctors are out of the Community Healthcare network. I've been to this particular hospital for cancer care and have had great experiences. My nurses were great. The doctors at the hospital were thorough and explained things well. I actually prefer this hospital over Community in Munster. Although both are great and have great staff. Highly recommended.
If you have to go to the ER here, make sure you bring someone with you to help you as the staff is "too busy". We're feeling like we were dumped in a back room, nobody to assist the patient to use the bathroom, or hook the monitors back up, and this is a possible heart attack you would think they would want the heart monitor on? If you need a blood test or IV, and they 'poke around' trying to find a vein, ask for someone else! There was a snooty tall blond making faces at my 87 yr old mother because she was crying and the girl couldn't hit a vein to save her life. IV team got the IV in fine, young guy came in and did the blood test and that was fine, even on the 6th floor they did blood tests and mom was fine, so this broad in the ER had no clue what she was doing, and the snot face looks she was giving my mom was very unprofessional! Then today they still want to keep her even though all the tests came out fine and there was not one medical reason they could give me for keeping her.
Doctor was pleasant but its 2am and still no room.
If you have all the time in the world this place may work. But there is not reason to do tests in a couple of hours and then spend 3 or 4 hours to be moved to a room.
Dr. King and other ER staff were awesome and treated me with respect. They used terms I could understand. Kept me informed about every test, and procedure that was performed on me.
A big thank you to Dr. King and the ER staff, and financial aid office for all they did to help me. June 8, 2018.
I had to go to the ER for the first time in my life. Everyone we dealt with from start to finish was wonderful. Caring, compassionate, accommodating. It was absolutely the worst day of my life, but they did everything they could to make things run smoothly. I hope I never have to go back, but if I do I know where I'm going.
