Reviews Indeed

It’s pretty sad when a hospital does not post your review. So I’ve created a separate account to post my original review & I will continue until the public can see the experience I’m trying to share. I urge anyone who has a true emergency to not ever go to this hospital. It will first cost you an unreasonable/unfair amount of money and it could cost you your life. I wrote a review before regarding this hospital and then deleted it after a few months because I felt maybe it was just an isolated incident. I was seen here in Oct of 2018 for pain in my back. The pain was so severe I had difficulty walking. I was taken to the back in little to no time. Blood was taken & I was never given fluids. I was given morphine for the pain & something else which set my stomach on fire all the way to my throat. It was way worse than heartburn. I was never given or offered a scan/X-ray or anything. I was told I had a bladder infection. I was charged over 2000$ for this visit & 10$ for a pediatric dose of pepto. I was seen the following day by my urologist who said that I had a kidney stone & severe kidney infection. He could not believe I was not treated with better care. More recently my uncle was having a seizure and foaming at the mouth when his daughter called 911. He did not know who he was or who his children were. He was rushed to Thibodeaux hospital. I showed up and he was waiting for a room. I live 30 min away. Anyway I waited 20 more min to see him. He had no fluids and had not even had his blood drawn yet. He actually never received fluids. What type of doctor knows you just had a seizure came there by ambulance and does not at least give you fluids?! The doctor ordered him volume and the nurse was giving him that when I entered the room. He was actually having withdrawals from alcohol. No test was ever ran. No help was offered. They did however give him a 4 day supply of volume and sent him on his way. I wonder how a hospital/doctor can get away with not testing someone yet just give someone who they know nothing about volume and take them at their word. When it comes to care this hospital lacks! When it comes to good doctors this hospital lacks. When it comes to follow up care the hospital lacks. I am hoping the commissioner’s office gets involved soon. This hospital is good at one thing from what I can see and have experienced and that’s over billing.

WORST experience I’ve ever had at any hospital in my life. Went in for extreme lower back pain. They refused to let me see an ACTUAL doctor. A nurse named Kenneth came in and leaned against the wall with his arms crossed giggling telling me to lift my legs. Nobody touched or examined me. Then the nurse Kenneth proceeded to tell me I just needed ibuprofen after I told them I’ve been taking naproxen, cyclobenzarone, methocarbomal, diclofenac. He gave me ibuprofen after I’ve already taken THREE 500 mg doses that day before deciding to visit the ER. I continued to ask another female nurse to see an actual doctor and she shoved discharge papers at me and made me sign while crying in pain. They are also required to wait a certain amount of time after administering medications to make sure the patient does not have a negative reaction to it. However directly after giving me the medication they made me leave even though the ER waiting room had only 2 people in there. I’m going to have to go to ochsner in Houma today for actual help. Will NEVER go to this hospital again even if I’m dying!

Er visit was awful from the care to the fact that they almost turn you away based on insurance. Then billing issues out the yinyang. They submit information wrong & never send you a bill literally until your credit drops due to unpaid bills. I lost hope in the #1 hospital like their recording says but after dealing with the “annoyed” billing women I’d say it’s all a joke. Someone is sitting high with no worries collecting big checks while little ppl are wondering why they are being billed nonsense charges & why the insurance companies were not charged to begin with. Right y’all was hoping to collect more from me instead of what the contract would pay that my insurance company has with your hospital. Pathetic...

Terrible terrible terrible!!!!! This is the 3rd time this hospital has done me and my family completely wrong! Front desk service was nice, i was greeted promptly and they got me in a room fast to wait for the doctor to see my 6 month old baby. Just as always....the doctors do not listen to you...at all! They never take me seriously, and its so insulting! And twice i proved them wrong when it came to my daughters temperature! They tried to discharge her with a temp of 99.6....negative...it was 101.8....im done with this hospital. I immediately went to St. Anne in raceland and they rushed her to the back and started running all kinds of tests and went as far as xrays to make sure her stomach, heart and lungs looked great. St. Anne has yet to dissapoint me. I sugguest any and everyone to take the time to head to that hospital for your needs. DO NOT GO TO THIBODAUX FOR ANYTHING SERIOUS!!!!!

Slow paced hospital. Some hospital staff is rude especially the nurse's in burgundy scrubs and behind the nurses station. They treat you as if you can't ask questions or try to play dumb. The do not come on time when you need them I know there are plenty people that come in ER, but when I serious problem is at hand you should come running. I see why people would rather go to any other hospital besides this one. You're supposed to show people you care!
