Some months ago I has a horrible muscle spasm in my back, I was in agony. I when to the ER, they tried to help but the level of pain meds and anti-inflammatory shot was doing about nothing for me. I when back to the ER, at admissions they said that there was nothing more they where going to be able to do at the ER and I needed to see my PCP. I was not going to be able to make an appointment until next week and I was in severe pain. They suggested I try to see her with a walk in appointment, I when to my PCP office and at the front desk they said they would have the staff RN see me. I waited about 10 min, spoke with my PCP's RN, she spoke with my PCP and was back with a script for Norco (3 days worth I only used 2) and Flexerall (a strong muscle relaxant.) And a two day pass from work if I needed it (It was Wednesday) After 4 days I was back at work. Very happy with my care at the VA.
This VA facility has been nothing but awesome, the Doctors and nurses that I have encountered have been very professional and courteous to me. The wait time to see you're Doctor can be frustrating, hopefully the new doctors choice law and new VA leadership will help
I have been going there for a long time for my specialized care and everyone has been very professional and very accommodating.
Parking can be a challenge, not a lot of space for larger vehicles, and I have gotten a ticket before when taking my husband into the ER because I parked in a staff lot right in front of the ER. Overall my experience coming here has always been positive, the staff is always friendly and helpful in directing you to where you need.
I had a great experience with Rheumatology two days ago. Dr. Nguyen was great and so was the staff and nurse. Change from 2 to 3 stars.
My last three experiences with doctors at the Sacramento VA Medical Center have been horrible. The Neurologist was down right rude at times and the Orthopedic doctor was totally useless and unhelpful. I have personally observed Veterans in the parking lot frustrated and swearing while security was following them close behind. So sad, nothing changes even with 22 Veterans committing suicide every day. Some have occurred in the parking lots of the VA hospitals. Putting a message on every voicemail that if you are considering suicide to call the crisis hotline will solve nothing. Veterans deserve better doctors that want to help them! 😡😡
I give it two stars because the majority of the staff is great, except for the two that sit at the front desk in orthopedics/podiatry. I called every day to get a message to the doctor that I had left an item in his office but it got tossed out.
