My sister never spoke to a counselor in her first 3 days, she was basically detoxing by herself alone with no support. She has medical issues and was never told to bring labeled medication bottles with her, so therefore she missed days of getting certain medications she needed for hepatic encephalopathy and lupus. She called me crying and told me about the medications and said she wasn't sure she could stay there. I tried to call the facility but was rudely told I couldn't speak to anyone about the matter. I went there the next morning and picked up my sister.

Although I only spent 10 days at this facility, I am clean and sober 14 months. I couldn’t have done this without their help. It’s not a hotel, nor a prison, but the experience was invaluable. The staff were professionals and the food was good. I would highly recommend this place to anyone needing help.

Great dedicated staff that always looks to put the patient's therapy first. Decisions At VFMC are always made with the patients in mind. Proud to work side-by-side with this great group of professionals!

Entered Valley Forge Hospital 36 years ago today (July 18,1981) and today I celebrate 36 years of continuous sobriety. The staff at the time taught me to listen, learn and examine my motives. I was a horrible patient but they got through in spite of myself. We started the Valley Forge Alumni Association (me, Linda McD. and and Curt C.) in 1981.The place has done a lot of good for a lot of people. Sobriety isn't for those who want it or even for those who need it. Sobriety is for those who are willing to do the work to earn it. Once we stop complaining and start doing the work, life gets better. May God continue to bless us all.
