feedback about Valley Forge Medical Center and Hospital
Although I only spent 10 days at this facility, I am clean and sober 14 months. I couldn’t have done this without their help. It’s not a hotel, nor a prison, but the experience was invaluable. The staff were professionals and the food was good. I would highly recommend this place to anyone needing help.
Great dedicated staff that always looks to put the patient's therapy first. Decisions At VFMC are always made with the patients in mind. Proud to work side-by-side with this great group of professionals!
Don't take my stars literally please.
I'm going through Suboxone withdrawal and I'm seeing all these negative reviews. On three strips of Suboxone for seven years. & Four 2mg Xanax a day for general anxiety. Had no idea I was on the wrong meds all this time
I'm stuck on 1 mg of Suboxone a day. Why am I going through this? I have to wait till 9 AM tomorrow to call to see if they take my insurance. CIGNA health spring How hard is that ??
I don't want to take this piece of Suboxone but I think I have to.!!?!!
I need help now and I'm not going to the local hospital because Abington hospitals "rehab quote is like a mental hospital. !!!
I'm trying to get into this place and live an hour away so hoping that if I bring my clothes & stuff they'll accept me. I'm an alcoholic (beer) and really need a place who people are serious about their sobriety. Hoping that it's not about court ordered people who are "just doing their time."
Had to rate it but have never been there yet.
Sorry, I didn't get back to my review on Valley Forge. I did get accepted and the girl on the phone told me what to do and what to bring. I had a good experience there getting detoxed and am sober now for 7 weeks!
l am going to TRY to be as objective as I can in this review. But....My experience there was horrible. Others may share a different view. First off....I am on Medicare. I was led to believe that I could stay longer than 5 days. That didn't happen because of the Medicare. So if U r over 65, have an alcohol problem and need psychiatric help. Forget it.
I went there with low expectations for accomodations. It is after all...a rehab. U r not going to the Radison. It was exactly what I thought it would be. Shared rooms, no showers except a shared one in the hallway shared by God knows how many people.
But...the most important thing -care itself- was poor. I would show up on time to the very few meetings scheduled. But the Counselors would either not show, be extremely late (in one case...I went to a 1:30 mtg and the Counselor showed up at 2:10. The meeting was over at 2:30). I skipped dinner one night to meet with a Psychiatrist and when I got there....I was told she was too busy to see me.
Speaking of dinner....the portions of food were very, very small. The cafeteria itself is a cluster $@#! and very disorganized. The reason that I was given is that they just switched food service providers and were working out the kinks.
Unlike any place I have been to before...during breaks, patients openly discussed drugs, where to buy it...yada, yada even though Counselors and Aids were hearing it as well. They say nothing. People were wearing bar, beer ads and other inappropriate ( in my option) apparel.
It's a Rehab not the boardwalk down the shore.
The facility is large (3 floors)....yet no one seems to have a map where different rooms, etc are located.
I came in with a alcohol problem...yet there was only 1 AA mtg offered. I did attend 2 NA mtgs. Speaking of AA.....NO ONE ever offered me a Big Book to read!
I could go on but I will let it go at that. Read this and the other reviews...and make up your own mind. Obviously, I wouldn't recommend it.
2 people however were very helpful and deserve a thank you from Me...that being the admission Dr.....Dr. Depeuw and Matt (day shift nurse in detox).
