I was extremely hesitant to have my CT scan at this hospital after reading all of the reviews, however my insurance (BCBS) didn’t cover the larger, more popular hospitals in my area, as of May 2018.
From my first contact with a West Houston staff member to the last, everything went very smoothly. Parking lot was extremely full, but we found a spot right away. In my years of experience from other medical facilities around the Houston and surrounding cities, parking is always a problem, so West Houston Med is not alone. It’s the nature of their business. Registration was extremely quick and with 2 professional, friendly staff members.
I believe it’s all in the way you treat the staff to begin with, how you will be treated. If someone comes across as a rude staff member, remember they are human too and might could use some respect and friendly communication.
Try it sometime, it works 99% of the time.
I was given a clear map and directions to the Imaging Dept. so no problems there. On our way, I passed 4 out of 5 very friendly staff members. Who knows, the one that wasn’t, may have had a lot on her mind regarding a patient-it isn’t always personal.
In the Imaging Dept. everyone was professional, efficient and friendly. I wasn’t waiting very long at all, before being taken back for my scan. I was treated respectfully and even friendly before, during and after my scan.
I had 2 family members with me that were treated the same.
FYI: As far as taking all of the bad reviews into consideration before choosing West Houston Medical Center, I would suggest to someone to experience for themselves firsthand, and to go in with a positive attitude to begin with.
I did.......and came away with a positive experience.
