Predatory. stay away!

Made the mistake of going to the ER here a couple months back. After waiting 4 hours I was seen by nurse Mikoku for all of 30 seconds, who REFUSED to provide the wound care I urgently needed and ran off to attend other patients, before I was given some discharge papers and shuffled out. Luckily, I made it to an urgent care clinic with professional staff. I had opened a dispute over the enormous bill I couldn't afford for the service I never received, and upon following up with Nicky from the billing department, was told that I wouldn't be responsible for the charges. Well, apparently that was a lie as I find a letter in the mail saying that the charges were deemed appropriate.

It's absolutely heartbreaking reading all these reviews about family members taking an ambulance to that ER and dying in the waiting room. Every ER could use more staff, but this place is simply something else. The sickest part is the massive billboards up for the ER, trying to lure more people into the waiting room. I have no idea how the administrators sleep at night, preying on the sick and dying to make a profit. If you value your health, STAY FAR AWAY!

This hospital has the worst service ever. So many rude nurses and doctors. They don't even listen to you. The only thing they do good is when the registration staff came of course money is important .I decided to not ever come to this hospital anymore nor my family .they are not professional and not good at treating kids nicely. My 8 year daughter was scared of them from the way they act and talk. Save your yourself from stress and go to a nice caring environment.

My 90 year old mom broke her leg and just spent 12 day here and was treated like a queen! All the nurses on the 5th floor were very courteous and supportive of my mom during her stay. They went out of their way to make my mom comfortable.

I took my little daughter to west houston, Richmond Ave, during the cough season, she was down with cough. the nurse at the front desk was so rude, shouting to the helpless parents as if they were the cause of the sickness.
The most painful part was that, the nurse on duty was confused and people bumping into the room without introduction, that we wondered who the nurse or the lab tech is.
In trying to get temperature they inserted this long stick to my daughter anus, I questioned if that must be done to get the temperature and they (male nurse and one other man) insisted yes, they pulled it out and the stick was full of blood. I cried, and felt the excruciating pain as my little daughter cried also, but tried to hold myself and to get my daughter well. Only normal, over the counter prescription was given that night after all these.
I have a little experience in the health sector. What they do in west Houston is so heart breaking, shameful, and deserves a total overhaul from bottom up. This shouldn’t be in the United States. I doubt if Afghans or North Koreans have this kind of experience.
Parents please don’t take your kids to this hospital. SO SAD

I was extremely hesitant to have my CT scan at this hospital after reading all of the reviews, however my insurance (BCBS) didn’t cover the larger, more popular hospitals in my area, as of May 2018.
From my first contact with a West Houston staff member to the last, everything went very smoothly. Parking lot was extremely full, but we found a spot right away. In my years of experience from other medical facilities around the Houston and surrounding cities, parking is always a problem, so West Houston Med is not alone. It’s the nature of their business. Registration was extremely quick and with 2 professional, friendly staff members.
I believe it’s all in the way you treat the staff to begin with, how you will be treated. If someone comes across as a rude staff member, remember they are human too and might could use some respect and friendly communication.
Try it sometime, it works 99% of the time.
I was given a clear map and directions to the Imaging Dept. so no problems there. On our way, I passed 4 out of 5 very friendly staff members. Who knows, the one that wasn’t, may have had a lot on her mind regarding a patient-it isn’t always personal.
In the Imaging Dept. everyone was professional, efficient and friendly. I wasn’t waiting very long at all, before being taken back for my scan. I was treated respectfully and even friendly before, during and after my scan.
I had 2 family members with me that were treated the same.
FYI: As far as taking all of the bad reviews into consideration before choosing West Houston Medical Center, I would suggest to someone to experience for themselves firsthand, and to go in with a positive attitude to begin with.
I did.......and came away with a positive experience.
