I am a retired physician. Last March while driving through AZ with our camper, I fell (twice) and hit my chest and cracked a rib. I was toughing it out as I know the usual course of these kind of injuries, but just past Springerville, while we were camped out, it became harder and harder to take a deep breath. . We were at about 7000 ft elevation and the pain was getting really bad so we unhooked the trailer and drove into what I was worried might be some kind of 3rd world hospital in the boonies. I was immediately triaged to the ER, put on Oxygen, scanned, medicated and in all respects the quality of care and the staff were wonderful. Dr. Kieth Butler who attended was a top flight ER doc and I have worked with many. I can't praise all of them enough. I was discharged with an incentive spirometer and appropriate medication, was able to fully inflate my lungs, probably avoided a good case of pneumonia and was able to finish the trip, albeit with the usual post fracture pain. So this is a stellar 5 star review. You should have no hesitation and expect first class care in the ER here.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I came in with chest pains and they were very thorough.

My grandson went in with severe pain due to severe head concussion and broken neck bone suffered in a previous car crash but was sent home with pain pills instead of transferring him to St Joseph in Phoenix to handle his injuries...He had been in Tucson hospital but as a 18 year old thought he knew better and checked himself out. Who would have made that decision without consulting Tucson.

Friendly staff. My wait times were nothing compared to the valley.

My husband had been in a rehab facility down in Phoenix after having a stroke. The care in Phoenix was terrible and he received very little physical therapy. We made the decision to move him to White Mtn Regional Medical Center's swing bed program against the advise of the Doctors in Phoenix. It was the best decision we made. He was closer to home and did not have to be in the valley by himself, I can go visit every day. The nursing staff have been very caring and compassionate. The PT, OT went out of their way to help my husband make as much progress as possible. Jay the OT therapist is exceptional. John the Director of the Swing Bed Program has been there all the way helping us. If you live in the White Mountains and have a loved one that you want to have closer to you and want them to have great care, give the Swing Bed Program at White Mountain Regional Medical Center a good look. It is the best.
