feedback about York Hospital
Recently I was hospitalized during some very stressful times. I was on the psychological ward. The doctors, nurses, and techs were so compassionate and caring. Many of them went above and beyond. The were always friendly and very knowledgeable. They took the time to give me individualized attention. Would definitely recommend this hospital.
Today York Hospital gets 4 ⭐️! It took a lot of talking to different people and administrators but the hospital surely came through today. My sisters fiancé passed away unexpectedly and initially they told her she would not be able to see him nor could they provide info on what may have happen. HIPPA of course! Long story short we proved to them he really had no family and my sister was all he had. Once approved... they went to the extremes of being extra sensitive respectful and courteous to us. From the moment we walked through the hospital and identified ourselves to the very end of departing. The security officer Pete, the Chapman with the whiskers to the nursing staff...all extremely compassionate. It was unexpected for them to act the way as I’ve had bad experiences too there. But today was a blessing and I’m so thankful because they provided my sister relief that was much needed for this unfortunate death. Thank you 🙏
Had surgery at the York Hospital recently. I was told I would be there for about 24 hours. My doctor said I'd be leaving the morning after surgery if I was walking and eating. Nurses wouldn't bring me food because I felt nauseous after anesthesia. They kept giving me nausea medication, which actually made me nauseous. They talked as if I would be there for another day. One of my doctors came in that afternoon and asked if I was ready to go home and was surprised I hadn't had food yet. I finally was allowed to eat and left after they knew I could keep food down.
Pretty much the same thing that happened the last time I had surgery there in 2003: they don't want you to go home. I get it, they want to make sure you're okay, but they didn't follow the doctor's orders.
Construction made getting in and out a nightmare.
Most of the nurses were very nice. The overnight nurse Hana was absolutely the best. She listened to me and walked with us when I was ready to get up and move. I wish her luck with her surrogacy.
Awful! I had to bring my 14yr old daughter to ER and we walked out after 13 hrs! Such lack of attention and care! Staff was pathetic! I'm SO glad the new UPNC hospital was built. I'll definitely be going there or driving extra distance somewhere other than York in future! I highly recommend you go anywhere else but here!
I have had many surgeries at York hospital and have had many problems. However, on this one occasion I has fantastic care in the recovery room. I know that they call it something different now. I had an hour and a half surgery, however was in recovery for 9 hours. Not for health reasons but because they didnt have any rooms. I had a Male nurse that had just started in that department. I believe he was in ICU previously. I wish I had his name because his superiors need to know how fantastic his care was. He attended to all of my needs proficiently and in a timely fashion. He was fantastic. Thank you to my nurse in recovery. As a matter of fact, I had very good care through my time from pre surgery to post surgical care. Thank you to all of my nurses, especially my recovery nurse. You did a fantastic job of giving a special care.
