feedback about York Hospital
I have had many great nurses here in labor and delivery. But this one nurse Susan is not very pleasant. She is rude and I feel doesn't know much about being in the ward. She has no clue the difference between an inhaler and flonaze, moved me to a point with my epidural that it stopped working till I could move and make it work, asked a simple question and she snapped at me. I will be calling someone about this ASAP and making sure I get a new nurse. Other then her have had great care.
They killed my dad. At 61, he went in for a routine heart issue. He was walking good, talking good, worked 10 hours every day. They drugged him so bad that it caused all his organs to fail. Absolutely worst experience ever.
my daughter was admitted late last week and through all the trials she endured while there, i saw she got the best of care. as her condition worsened they treated every bit of her needs. even when i broke down at one point the staff was so supportive. shes home now and back to living her life. i cant thank all who had anything to do with her case enough. every one who has heard about my daughter and her condition i always rave about the care she recieved.
4-6 Hour wait. Majority of staff have a bad attitude. If you're on your deathbed expect to be late to your funeral. Slow as Hell. Nurses will miss your veins. Be prepared for bruised arms. Don't worry though, they will check your vitals frequently.
They aren't horrible, but they do need improvement.
I had my third baby here. They did not seem to believe my water had broken. They made me put on a gown and take off the large pad I was wearing, so liquid was dripping onto the floor. They then put that gauge in me to see how much fluid their was and they said, "oh your water really did break!" Uh, yes. It did. The midwife did an awesome job at delivery and everything was great. The stay was peaceful. However, I got a bill for "surgical room" and "surgical staff", which were totally different from the maternity charges on the bill. No one ever touched me with any kind of instrument. I was also billed for 2 days of supposed breastfeeding consult. By my third kid, I had a good hold on breastfeeding and politely told the lactation consultant I did not need her as soon as she offered her services. They couldn't explain these charges to me it took months to get them to remove them. Many unprofessional emails were sent to me.
I took my daughter here for myositis that did not seem to be going away. It took them 5 hours to confirm with me that it was myositis, even though I had told them in the beginning. The treatment from there went smoothly.
