Always great things to say about the hospital, nurses, and doctors. I have to mention one particular today. Wife had surgery yesterday. Was taken care of by one of the most genuine, passionate, helpful, and informative nurses I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Chris was caring and firm at the same time. She is exactly what my wife needed to get through her first night. We appreciate her very much!

I recently had an Endoscopy done here in the Pediatric Outpatient Center, and it was the best hospital experience I’ve ever had! Everyone was so kind and friendly towards me and made me feel at home. I couldn’t have asked for better nurses and doctors!

3 years ago, my mother had an anursim on one of her main veins leading up to her neck which gave her stroke-like symptoms, but fortunately was minor. According to the doctors, no signs of brain damage was present. She was in the hospital for 2 weeks getting exams after exams. She had a nurse she says was a male who attended her so well. I wish she remembered his name. According to her, she has never received that attention from a Nurse. He was so caring and considerate of her she was thankful.

The heart failure clinic provides great care for us.

However, for over two years I have not seen one Black nurse in the clinic. They recently hired nurses and nurse practitioners in the clinic. None of them were Black. I understand the hospital does not or has not hired any Black nurse practitioners in the entire hospital. This is a awful practice.

For numerous decades, Oak Lawn has been know as a racist community.
It's unfortunate Black patients don't see Black nurses in the heart failure clinic. I hope to see a change in the near future.

I have a relative on the six floor, so far the nurses that's taking of my sister was very nice and helpful, they answer my questions and explain what the therapy procedures and how long it will take so it make her feel tired. The only issue I have is that the staff stay on their cellular phones , that's unprofessional maybe because its on the weekend.
