I recently visited the ER and the staff was very kind and professional with me, everyone I talked to was extremely nice and understanding. Even when I had to do blood the nurse sang “Baby Shark” to me and helped me relax, and he did a great job it didn’t even hurt, and I usually cry tears over any shot, I wish I could remember his name, but he was in the ER Thursday, November 15, 2018 around 6:00pm. I am pregnant and I came in because I was having abdominal pain. I’m still very early on my pregnancy but I feel that this might be the place that will fulfill all of my maternity needs. Thanks!!!
Sitting here with my sister-in-law, after she received major surgery three days ago for numerous blood clots. Amputation was a serious possibility, but was miraculously avoided with some deft surgery. ICU staff totally rocks; professional but with a sense of warmth and humor.
Never again. ..sure it's the holidays..but the patients ARE SICK AND IN PAIN and have been for hours. Waiting for pain control.isn't that a standard of care But..do these MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS realize we in the treatment rooms hear everything at the desk. And talking about a poor elderly patient Down the hall who's call light has been ringing for 38 min.(
SHE'S FROM A NSG HOME) and when you are told"We will reevaluate your pain shorty!!" 67 min is NOT shortly. How is this compassionate care. Thank GOD I was there and could be my niece's voice. We were told we had EVERYTHING we needed in an envelope to take to her Surgeon At Children's but not true.we had to go back to get the DISC which contained ALL the imaging .Shame on South Suburban...and BY THE WAY her surgeon was so surprised that what SS read was not what he saw..So sad THIS USED TO BE A GREAT PLACE..only shining light was a night nurse with the first initial H !!
My Mother was admitted there to run tests. Was told that everything was fine. The evening before she was supposed to be discharged I visited with her for several hours and noticed that something was terribly wrong. I asked the nurse to check her vitals and oxygen levels. Her Oxygen levels were low at 70%. So they started her on Oxygen. The next morning I called to speak with the Doctor and she stated that everything was good with my mother and she was about to be discharged. I then spoke to my mother on the phone and she sounded bad. I told my mother to put the nurse on the phone. I explained to the nurse that my mom was NOT ok and to call the doctor have them to run more tests, perform a chest xray and to check her Oxygen levels again. After running additional tests it was determined that my mother had respiratory failure. She was immediately transferred to ICU. This hospital is a JOKE. My mother was treated with such disregard! If she would have gone home something really bad could have happened to her! Thank God she has me to advocate for her. But what about all the other Senior Citizens who don't! Doctors and Nurses, I don't get paid to do YOUR job! Stop being lazy and treat people with dignity and respect.I've lost all faith in the healthcare system. It's a DISGRACE! If I could rate this hospital a ZERO that's what it would get!
