feedback about Alta Vista Regional Hospital
The wait times are very long even when there is no line. They are also known locally by most people as the hospital you go to, to die, rather then get treated/cured. It has the nickname of Hasta la vista
Had surgery to remove a umbilical hernia, from the time I checked in to the time I left I felt very comfortable with the nurses and the staff that was helping with my procedure. They were all very friendly and willing to keep me comfortable as they went about there jobs.Every thing was explained to me as to what was going to happen step by step. To keep a long story short I was very pleased with the service.
Recently went in for knee replacement surgery. From the time I got there, until the time I left, was treated with kindness and care by the staff. Was kept well informed on what was happening and rather enjoyed the stay.
Very dissatisfied w/altavista I have wasted time gas and money to travel from northern n.m. to Vegas. For 3 separate occasions for same appointment. 1st time they couldn't find my paperwork on orders. 2nd time2nd time they didn't hve proper orders cause staff requested wrong forms from my PC. 3 time machine was down. Not 1 of these appointments were cancelled so I wouldn't hv to make a unnecessary trip. I waited for 3 weeks for them to call and reschedule as they said they would. But never did. I finally call and they finally tell me that they don't preform said test and put all blame on PC again.the incompetence of this hospital has no boundaries. Staff is rude and very ununderstanding. I would rather travel extra miles to santa fe than to deal with altavista and their staff any longer. Thank the good lord I want dying.
I have always had good service at AVRH. The Emergency room was expensive, it seems to me, but service has always been good. Very personable, helpful, professional nurses. I am a "local" and have been there quite a few times.
