Surprise billing is a true thing at Amery Hospital and Clinic. 1. Yes, they will set up a second appointment for you without you agreeing, and yes, you will be billed for this. 2. The wait is for real. My second time in it was so bad I had to time it. 43 minutes waiting, 7 minutes doctor patient time. 3. Common practice like this is the major failings in the medical field, driving people like me from seeking $313.00 for less than 10 minutes doctor time? Doesn't feel like me health was priority. Next time I will be trying a private practice.

I went to E.R. in extremely bad head pain.It was not a migraine, it was sharp, stabbing pains. The lady Dr. gave me an anti-inflammatory med! I laid there nearly 2 hrs. in horrendous pain after the med. It didn't help my pain at all! She was the most un-proprofessional Dr. I'd ever seen! I refuse to go back to ER or the clinic. They are supposed to relieve pain and attempt to find out the cause. She did neither.

My mom was admitted here after being transferred out of a SCRMC due to them being full. We were a little anxious about coming to Amery because we had never been but I would definitely consider doctoring here in the future even though its further from home. Every single staff we encountered was very kind, helpful, and pleasant. The nurses and doctors were genuine about their care and very patient and kind, answering any and all questions without making us feel dumb, as we've unfortunately experienced in many other hospitals over the years. (I hate even going to see doctors because they make you feel dumb all the time.) I went to the cafeteria to get coffee on our second morning there and the food service lady who delivered food to my mom the day before recognized me and genuinely asked how I was, and then asked me how my mom was doing. The staff asked me, a family member, if I needed anything multiple times throughout the stay. The staff were exceptionally pleasant and did everything they could to best take care of my mom. Can't say enough good things about the whole experience. Being in the hospital is never fun, but ALL of the staff, the nurses, doctors, house keeping, cnas, food service, pharmacy, greeters, literally every single one we came in contact with, were fantastic from the minute we walked in (at 3am). Thank you Amery Hospital staff for taking exceptional care of my mom!

The Doctors do not call with any reports. They order expensive tests and call 2 weeks later. The person calling with the report can not answer any questions as they are not qualified. Policies around medical records are antiquated only to serve their privately held hospital.

Called to make an appointment for my daughter, the scheduling lady was SO rude, super short with me ( like im stupid) then has the nuts to hang up on me when she was gonna "transfer" me to someone else. I asked for the womans name and she wouldnt say She obviously didnt care to call back either.Definitely not EVER going to this hospital.
