feedback about Banner Desert Medical Center
My mother died in this hospital in ICU in December. These nurses and doctors were awesome! They did all they could to save her, but she was terminally ill. After she died we waited and about an hour later they let us go in. They had all the machines out and it was just my deceased mom in the bed...everything was cleared out, and they created a good environment for us to begin our grieving process.
We have always received compassionate care here. There are so many helpful pediatric specialists here at Banner Desert/Cardon Children's. I feel piece of mind receiving care here versus our small hometown hospital. The cafeteria food is good and has a large variety, especially during the busier 3 main mealtimes. The food menu to order off of as an inpatient is large.
I had a heart attack diagnosis and treatment as well as an open heart surgery at Banner Desert. I could not be more happy with the care I received there. The ER, OR, floor nurses & cafeteria staff were very competent and compassionate and I am a difficult patient with lots of requests and expectations of prompt, high quality service.
I took my 5 month old daughter to be seen. She was very sick and having breathing issues. I thought great there was only 2 other families waiting on the pediatric side. Well an hour goes by and people keep coming in and going back before us 4 other children to be exact! So I ask the nurse and I get told oh these children are sicker and that’s how we base who goes back first. I’m sorry but that is terrible to say especially when my child is just as sick! It made feel like my daughter didn’t matter. After 3 hours of waiting I left and my daughter was never seen. Do not take your children to this hospital!
One of the most horrible experience I ever had at the emergency ward. Such confusion, unnecessary medical procedures (which ended up costing me over $3,000). I had a simple bacterial infection. When just trying to obtain an itemized statement, I had to make 3 calls and an email. It took a week to send me my bill, but a month and a half to get the itemized bill. When the so called itemized statement came in the mail, it was incomplete, just full of codes and abbreviations and no information on the $1,800.00 bill from the ER doctor. The billing clerk was so rude and ignorant. I am not willing to pay thousands of dollars without a clear explanation of all charges. I was also billed for 6 hours in "Observation room" but actually was only there 3/1/2 hours. Beware of this hospital emergency services.
