Went into ER after hours of excruciating pain. Was seen rather quickly for an ER visit. However, the pompous, fast talking, red-headed Dr. Barr who came in assumed I was a drug addict looking for pain medication. As I tried to explain my symptoms and otherwise high pain tolerance while curled up in a ball...Dr. Barr talked over me constantly. Dr. Barr explained there was nothing he could do for me, suggested a nuerosurgeon somewhere else. I was furious, left there and went to St. Vincent’s. Was seen quickly, given a cat scan and found to have a severe issue with my neck. Dr. Barr at Springhill had no bedside manner whatsoever. First do no harm?! I’m on my 3rd day of being bedridden still in great pain! Aside from getting in quickly, I wouldn’t take a dog to Springhill. If Dr. Barr is the face of care then Springhill is the lowest of low on my lists of ER to visit! Trust me, go to St. Vincent’s...you’ll receive the care you deserve.
“This review is only for the EMERGENCY ROOM”
I took my 6 year old in for stomach pain and waited two hours before we were called back to a room. Once in the room I noticed that the room was clearly not ready for another patient to be there. There was a urine sample cup on the counter and two big containers which both had someone else’s urine. Also, opened medical kits which also didn’t belong to us. Then, to top it off there was blood on the trash can bag. When I told a passing nurse about what I had seen she said, “oh, I am sorry, this shouldn’t have happened. If this was my room this wouldn’t be here”. Needless to say that I decided to leave and take my child to her pediatrician first thing in the morning. So, if you do decide to visit the emergency room be sure to check the cleanliness of your room. I do understand its an emergency room and things get hectic but what I saw that night was unacceptable, at least in my opinion.
Can't say enough about our experience at Spring Hill. Staff so helpful and caring. My husband ended up having to spend the night after out patient surgery. They were so kind and attentive. Doctor Hayes is amazing. Highly recommend him.
Spent 6 hours in the ER. Within 60 minutes they took a EKG and an X-ray and we waited and waited while they took other patients (had a retina separation problem, but no blood.) Finally GAVE UP and left w/o ever seeing a doctor. Wasn't bleeding enough or having an active heart attack so we got put off indefinitely.
OTOH they did have people streaming in all of the time the 5pm on, so SOMEBODY likes them. Suggest you spill lots of ketchup on yourself before you visit -- maybe you'll get in faster. Good luck, I'll take my chances with a back alley doctor; at least they'd be faster.
Nurse Trisha should find a new line of work!!! Eye rolling, BAD ATTITUDE, JUST PLAIN HATEFUL. WE WILL NEVER USE THIS HOSPITAL AGAIN!!!! Have a great day nurse "Trisha"
