I had an appointment with Dr. James Otis today and I must say I am very impressed! He was very thorough and he listened to me. He even asked my opinion about my treatment. He took his time and made me feel very comfortable. I Highly recommend him as your neurologist!

25 years ago my son was rushed to Bay state for heart. TGA they put a hole in his heart to let blood flow 5 days later he had open heart surgery in Boston Children's Hospital. I always recommend both as together they saved my son. 25 years later he's still thriving.

Baystate is the only hospital I go to. I have numerous serious health problems and spend most of my life with doctors. I have been an inpatient many, many times and have always received exceptional care here. This comprehensive medical center offers care and services that are definitely comparable with any Boston facility, in my opinion. The ER is Always crowded, however they have an excellent Triage system in place that will place you in the order of the seriousness of your condition. You will receive very good treatment from the all staff, nurses, doctors, phlebotomist's, housekeeping, transport, etc. All are efficient, friendly, super good at what they do. I have had to wait longer than I wanted to sometimes, but it is because they are so overloaded with patients. I will say that in the ER there are people that could have been treated at the many Urgent Care offices available now in our area instead of going to the hospital. If people would go to a doctor or an Urgent Care facility when they have routine problems, it would free up the Emergency Room for the more serious, complicated patients. I have experienced the ER many, many times, many of the various care units (old and new types of rooms), the infusion clinic, surgery, just about any area of this hospital that it is possible to have needed care in I've used, therefore I feel confident enough about Baystate Medical Center to highly recommend it to others needing medical care.

This ER is the worst place ever! 9 hours waiting in the waiting room and didn’t see a doctor. I went in there from a ambulance then they down graded me and put me in the waiting room. First time and the last time I’ll go here. St Francis in Hartford is quicker, friendlier and care about you.

My grandson had a non-urgent facial injury that was beyond the care of the urgent care clinic. So we were referred to the Baystate Hospital Pediatric ER. The nursing staff and doctor were kind and understanding. I witnessed how they worked with a women who did not speak english who was waiting for her child to arrive by ambulance. Again, they did this in a professional, calming manner. The care and advice were excellent.
