Great hospital with great ER staff! I live closer to another hospital but if I am able to, I will drive the extra 15 minutes to BI.

My husband is being treated at the cancer center. His doctor and nurse are great, but the people at the desk in the cancer center and especially the lab are impolite and clueless. Every time we go for an appointment there is some kind of hassle about the lab work order, where to check in (it changes every time); co-pay or scheduling. It's a shame to have to put up with incompetent service people to get to see a good doctor. BIDMC needs to attract a better quality of receptionists and lab workers as the current staff is bringing down the quality of the entire facility.

Staff is extremely rude and inpatient. I strongly believe it starts at the top with Albert Santos the director of inpatient services. I was extremely surprised to see how accurate most of the reviews are, and how it changed. I would highly recommend to read all the reviews carefully before choosing this hospital for your medical care.

Since last 15 years I've been in this hospital's ER room 9 times, was hospitalized twice and had 1 outpatient and 2 inpatient surgeries. Probably I was very lucky, but there was only once when I saw another patient in ER. The personnel in ER was very knowledgeable, professional and compassionate. I can't find enough good words about doctors, nurses and technicians on the second floor (I think it's a post-op floor). Everybody is very professional, knowledgeable, swift and compassionate. The rooms are great. The hospital is equipped with the latest medical technology devices, their approach with medications is mindful - I was never rejected a strong painkiller when my pain was very intense, but always had a choice of a lighter remedy, like a Tylenol, when my nurse and me thought it was sufficient.
The personnel in the pre-op department also deserved only the best words and ratings - very professional, very patient and attentive, I could have not wished for better medical care.
I was sad and surprised to read negative reviews, especially few from elder patients. I can only hope that they were very unlucky. It's hard to believe that Sara, Jocelyne, Jill and Megan were rude and inattentive to senior patients on my floor, at the same time beeing extremely nice and helpful to me. I had the best experience 4 years ago, and this time it didn't change a bit. I am very gratefull to everyone in Needham BIH, who take care of me.
This is the only hospital I will go in future with my emergency and other health problems.

No Dr available only PA who was going from room to room . Went for a wound in my leg . They checked for clot and found none. Did not remove the dressing on my leg , put me on Antibiotics and told me to make appointment with wound clinic, they gave me appointment in 10 days . After I was in that ER for 6 hours 3 Drs arrived for work as I was leaving
