great experience at the bham va.....always a great place for refuge
My husband had an annual appointment today at K1 clinic. I was so pleased with the receptionists in the waiting room. They were so kind and courteous to everyone. They all spoke respectfully to each patient, and did everything they could to help each patient.
They made everyone's visit easier with the consideration and patience they showed each patient. In addition, the Nurse practitioner Bruce was very thorough in my husband's care and finished the visit by asking us if we had any questions. We are so thankful for the VA.
As any VA Hospital or Center across the nation. You are expected to be on time, just to spend the next 2 hrs waiting for a 5min service. I get the message the VA was designed for retirees that need care and it was on times where the economy could support them. Spin it to today, time is money and if have to take a day against the hard earned vacation time to cover up, then is failing into supporting me. I got an hour earlier for my appointment, after driving 2hrs, loosing 3 hours from work. Moved two times from waiting rooms and 1 hr after my scheduled time, I find that another lady has been waiting for the past 3 hours since they are as they said “A little behind schedule”. This is the reason we as Veterans keep loosing or faith, confidence into this Organization. We give everything while serving the country, while we get low quality service in exchange. Warning if you come be prepared for long waiting times.
Everything went extremely smooth during my appointment here. Exceptional medical staff and exceptional diner staff as well. I didn't get her name but the lady who makes the sandwiches and wraps was awesome. Made a great hummus wrap and was very personable. Nelson was very personable as well. Five out of five without a doubt. Last but not least a big thanks to my primary care doctor and her nurse for scheduling my appointments.
