I visited my mother after her surgery and was extremely impressed with the facilities and the staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Free valet parking was a big relief after driving in from out of state and being unfamiliar with the location. The equipment in her room was state of the art and the staff regularly checked on her and was so caring. There were nurses, aids and techs that came in while I was there. The cafeteria called her to see what she wanted for her meal. A chaplain's aid stopped in to offer support. I don't think she could have been better cared for anywhere else. Very impressed.
It wasn't me, but my mother stayed here for her breast cancer surgery, and her experience was wonderful. The hospital and the room she stayed in was well-maintained and clean. Her nurses were very helpful, answering every question we had. The food was actually better than we expected. She had a wonderful stay, and I would recommend this hospital.
My grandmother was treated at this hospital after emergency surgery. Unfortunately after unforseen and unavoidable complications, she did not make it through. The ICU staff was incredible. The RNs Sara and Debra were supportive and unwavering in their attentiveness and care. The Chaplain, Martha, came to my family’s side with the perfect balance of delicacy and strength, not just once, but twice; and at my family’s most difficult times. Thank you to all at st Francis, those named and not named, for all that you did for my grandmother and family. We are forever greatful.
Not sure how they received their rating for being one of the best hospitals? This hospital is a joke all the way around from the Nursing Staff to the Case Managers are absolutely the worst I have seen. No attention to the patient whatsoever. Nurses say they will come back to check on you in an hour.. 4 hours later they may show up. My mother was there in ICU for two weeks and then in a regular room for another week. When they moved her from ICU to a regular room, they moved her in the middle of the night. Ridiculous! She would also lay in her feces for an hour or more before they would show up after she used the call button for help.
Staff goofs off in the halls at night when you are trying to get some rest. Non stop foolishness.
If I were you, go somewhere else even if your life depends on it!
I came in with shortness of breath and within seconds was cared for. I spent 4 days in the hospital and I received so much attention. Everyone from the multitude of doctors and nurses I saw to the trash removal person were all interested in one thing....was there anything I needed or wanted? This was non-stop. The fare was very adequate. Also I felt I was in charge of my care. I was given very specific information continually to make prudent decisions. I'm glad this is my hospital.
