feedback about Borgess Medical Center
Have always had exceptional service at Borgess Hospital. Their outpatient testing clinic is wonderful.
My husband and i have been coming to Borgess hospital for about 40 years and have always received the best care and service unril this time. It has been a nightmire. I keep seeing sign all over the place about better care. Well ascension it is not better it is 100 wores
I was transported from Sturgis hospital to here for a heart condition and am very thankful for everything each and every staff member did for me. I recieved exceptional care from the Doctors all the way to housekeeping. Some of my nurses were Angel's I swear. You are all truly special people. Thank you.
This was one of my worst ER visits. They took forever and had terrible service. Definitely will not be coming back to this hospital 😒
This hospital is a yes and no for me. We were referred over from the urgent care across the street, who suggested that my husbands pain was his apendix. ER was great and got us back right away, got him changed, and hooked him up. However it took 5 hours for them to tell us he had appendicitis and needed it removed promptly. We had to remind nurses where they left off, and that he had to get his testing done. One nurse would come in and say one thing, and then 30 minutes later another nurse would come in and say the complete opposite. Seemed as if no one talked to each other about my husband, or possibly any patient. Made me skeptical of allowing them to do the procedure on my husband when while we were waiting for them to tell us about his test result, all the nurses and cleaners were gathered around a phone, saying things like, "ugh. I cannot stand her. She's such a B****." Very unprofessional, and made me feel uneasy. The original ER doctor who was seeing him had gone home because of his end of shift (understandably!) But then the doctor who stepped in didn't have the slightest idea what my husband was there for. He even said to us, "well the bloodwork looked fine. But that lies all the time, so I'm not sure."
Lastly. When my husband finally got into surgery, after waiting for the Surgeon to come in because they couldn't find him for a half hour, we went to the waiting room. The night cleaner spent the whole time telling my mother in law and I about how all the Doctors and Nurses there are "just a bunch of rich white people" and that "everything is sketchy around here." Surgeon came back in, says my husband is on the way to the recovery room. Call there in 15 minutes so we can go see him.
15 minutes go by, I call. I'm greeted by a woman who when I give her my name and who I'm calling to see how he's doing/when we can visit/where we need to go, she rudely interrupted me by saying, "well are you even related?" I replied saying "I hope so, we kinda have the same last name because he's my husband." Hence why I gave her my full name to begin with.
I could keep going on and on. Super weird experience. Not enough to make me feel comfortable coming back. BUT my husband is healthy and home, so that's my biggest concern.
