My husband came to CPMC for a brain aneurysm. The doctors have all been amazing however not so much with some of the staff. There is a male nurse in ICU whom I will not name that needs to learn compassion and sympathy especially towards families who are dealing with major trauma with their loved ones. There was mistake made by another nurse resulting in my husband having to have an unnecessary procedure. Totally unacceptable. He was eventually moved to the 3rd floor. I had a hard time getting anyone to answer the phone when calling. I was put on hold for over 10 minutes. I had to call again and just asked the nurse to call me back. That never happened. The lack of communication from the staff is disturbing and really makes me question the quality of care.
This place is a joke. The hospital is in bad shape, upon arrival I was confronted by a gurney leaning up against the bushes with what looked like blood splatter on it... no one in sight? Once inside, the hallways are filthy, the navigation to various departments is challenging and the rooms are miss-numbered. I was there for an MRI, and upon finally finding the room there was literally no one inside for a good 15 mins to talk to. Once an individual did arrive it turns out they had messed up the schedule and I wasn’t booked for over a month out. Apparently the person that schedules the appointments had decided to go home.... with the scheduled unavailable and the individual helping me not the scheduler, he was completely unable to reschedule or provide any resolve. To say that this hospital is useless and an actual health hazard would be an understatement. Do not go here!
An ischemic embolism brought us to their Stroke ICU. I have never experienced such devotion to the patient. Dr. Wong and her multi-faceted colleagues were caring and understanding; carefully explaining all treatments and tests, administering healing medication and sage advice.
Look, I understand that not all persons will have the positive outcomes that we are having...(patient is still in rehab) ... but I feel this facility will be a best option for anyone at any time, for any reason.
Thanks for reading.
Re: ER Services. We first went to another hospital nearby and the receptionist told us unsympathetically and almost sarcastically that it would be a “nice little wait of 2 hours plus.” The waiting room was dark and sad. While my wife checked in I immediately called CPMC Davis and an actual friendly human picked up. He said they would see us in minutes. We cancelled the registration and drove here. We arrived and encountered great fast customer service. We waited about 5 minutes to be seen and the waiting room doesn’t look like a mortuary.
Urgent Cares are typically slow however they were very fast here and got us in and out. The staff were friendly and their cost eas great! 5 stars all around
