After being sent from an Urgent Care in Christiansburg to this hospitals ER department. I wouldn't want anyone I care about to go to this hospital. Never have I met nastier people.
A resident came in, seemed nice in the first 3 seconds, purple streak in hair, then once the door closed she sat on my bed and was tapping the bed repeatedly in between words lecturing me on what an Emergency Room was for and why they couldn't help me.When II go confused and backed away, from her blatant disregard for my personal space, she put her hand on my knee. "Do you understand?" With a squint and tilt to her head like she was talking to someone mentally handicapped.
The physician on the floor at that time came in and sold me the same spiel. Same squint same condescending tone and head tilt.
I went in because I was having memory issues. I couldn't even remember what my mother's eyes looked like. Since I was sitting waiting in a hospital I just thought I was waiting to visit my father. My father died 2013.
The only nice lady there was maybe a CNA? She took my urine sample from me without gloves and left me standing in the hall with no idea how to get back to my room.
I have worked construction off and on most of my life. I have worked in a cubicle. I have worked in VA hospitals. I have been to college and have had rude professors. I have been to my families homes in Germany and Brasil and seen how rudely upper classes treat those below them. I married into the military and was in myself for a short time.
Never in my short life have I met nastier people, than in this place people go when they are hurt, scared and in need of help.
I also love how this place comments on every single bad review that they're saddened by what happened but they don't want you to talk about it on social media.
--Hush Hush we know we're awful stop telling everyone about it.
However they will thank anyone that left a semi-decent review.
The worst medical facility I've ever been in. I lived Goodview, Va and had an accident unloading at a warehouse and had to call an ambulance and was taken to this hospital. While I was in being examined by a very rude and inexperienced physician that kept telling me I was tensing my leg up and I needed to let it loose when I wasnt , he was pouring sweat and was very unpleasant. I had a bad torn muscle in my leg and it was swollen twice the size of the other. After a 5 minute examination he ordered a MRI for the following week and then said that he couldn't prescribe anything for pain as if that's what I was there for. Treating me like some degenerate drug addict.
On the day of the MRI I got a call from the hospital to remind me of my appointment and then without anyone available to assist me took the hour and half drive to the hospital. When I went to check in, a very rude lady at desk was like "oh sorry we cant see you today" and then when I asked why she told me that the dr who ordered the MRI wasn't authorized to do so and that was that. Then I brought up the fact they had just called me that morning to remind me about my appointment and before I even got finished some hot shot old va state trooper popped out from behind her and was like "you're not going to argue with this nice lady in front of me" and then grabbed me by the arm and forced me from the hospital. Not one person tried to do anything to help me at all or showed ANY concern for the mistake that THEY made. I wasted time and gas and then was treated poorly by them and va state police. And since when did taxpayers start booting the bill for hospital security. He was obviously back there flirting with the staff and seized his moment to be a big hero. What a joke and what a terrible hospital full of quacks. Whatever you do DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU CAN AVOID IT. Drive on up to Lewis Gale in Roanoke you'll be glad you did.
I highly recommend anyone that has a mental illness to go there because even though they were busy on Friday when my friend went in to seen and be put somewhere for what was going on with him they did excellent and took really good care of him while he waited to be evaluated!!! And I also want to give Marie correct as well she did great and she's always sweet &kind when we are there!!!
Spent 6 hours in the ER for a referral. Been to this place 4 different times now on 5 different occasions. ( because they told us to come leave a urine sample on a day they were closed..which was a complete wasted trip) and everytime we come there nobody is on the same page. One doctor says the complete opposite than the other doctor did the prior visit. 6 hours...for a referral and a ER doctor bill.
I was there Monday, August 13th. 2018
Not knowing what was wrong with my daughter, we had to wait 5 hours in the ER just to see Dr. My daughter was in really bad pain, crying, and throwing up. There were other people waiting to see the Dr. ,some were laughing on their cell phones, reading a book, ect. They went back before my daughter. The nurse in the triage couldn't hit a vein because of my daughter being so dehydrated. Once we finally got back to see the Dr. everything went well. I an very disappointed in the wait, going somewhere else next time.
