The hospital was clean and comfortable during my stay. Every staff member was kind, helpful and friendly. This is hands down the best hospital I have ever been to!

I would give zero stars if i could. even negative. i took my elderly parent here and they diagnosed him and said'd he'd be fine for the three weeks we were there. they even recommended that he go to a nursing home for physical therapy and I had hope that he would even bounce back. I stayed overnight with him for two weeks in the nursing home and then left for three days to run errands at home. I got a call from the home saying he was going back to another hospital. got there and they said he had organ failure and there was nothing they could do. the morons didn't once mention that his previously diagnosed condition could lead to this or how bad it could get. didn't even give me any other options or treatments outside the hospital. It really felt like they only cared about getting their room available so they could take someone else's money. my sincere advice would be to never trust the competency of the doctors/nurses here and to try to avoid the carolinas health care system at all cost because they are both insensitive and incompetent. I now sincerely believe that if you are unlucky enough to get seriously ill in north carolina, you are as good as dead.

Was in the ER May 8, 2018 following a fall and had my foot reset. The Dr was fine but I was unable to use crutches after just recovering a month earlier with fractures in my left foot. I had asked for antibiotics after being in CMC Mercy for 8 days with MRSA in 2007. The next day the sling was digging in my leg and back of my knee which still shows and was COMPLETELY blistered and my friends were horrified and called another ambulance. Still no antibiotics or pain meds and crutches again that I couldn't use without another accident. The next day, same story, but they sent me back in an ambulance and would not take me up the 3 steps so I had to scoot on my hands and but to get in. The next day I went to CMC by ambulance again which I kept refusing as it was a waste of time. My I was in so much pain and had several blisters that it was horrifying. No pain meds so I drank some beer to kill the pain before an infection set in and killed me. My foot was flopping around like a wet 🐠 at 1st with the toes going down to my ankles on both sides! Still no help so I told them I wanted to put a bullet in my head and I meant it, so I ended up in the psych ward being babysat for 3 days... Still no antibiotics. After 3 days they were going to discharge me again and my family was ready to call a lawyer, then I was discharged to Charlotte Rehab and Health center. After I took off my sling they were horrified and wanted to send me back to the ER. It took 16 days to have surgery that should have been done within 72 hrs!Its nearly 6 months and I can barely walk! I would never go back to CMC unless I wanted to die! That hospital should be shut down!!! Randi Greenhough

This place is the worst! After waiting 6 hours on a cold gurney, I was ushered into a satellite area off the emergency room. They promised me a room. That was Thursday at 8pm. It's now Friday at 904pm, 24 hours later and they still have me down here in this holding area. I asked for pain medication and for a medication that treated me last time I was here, and they refused saying that I would have to wait for a morning consult with the doctor. Meanwhile, I'm waiting uncomfortable and in pain in a holding area where there are curtains between the patients and the nurses. The nurses are young and inexperienced and don't know a damn thing. I wouldn't recommend this hospital to a damn dog!!!
