I am always disappointed with CMC billings. Dealing with children's ER & convenient care billing are the WORST I have ever dealt with. If you don't want them to waste your time, I would recommend Guthrie. I wish Guthrie could make it happen to build their new facility in Ithaca as quickly as possible!!!

Do NOT go to this hospital unless it is absolutely necessary. In September, i arrived with a kidney stone — excruciating pain, and vomiting. I’ve had them before, and I know that pain medication and good care is absolutely vital during the process of passing the stone.

I didn’t receive pain medication immediately or even quickly. I was taken to an ER room, given a vomiting bag, and was not given pain medication until I was found on the floor an hour and a half later crying on the floor and vomiting.

I later received a CT scan, and shortly afterwards passed the stone. However, I wasn’t discharged until HOURS after this fact. I kept pressing the buzzer, and nurses would tell me they would discharge me soon, but had other patients to take care of. I arrived at the hospital at 7 AM, passed the stone around 11:30 or so, and wasn’t realized until at least 3 PM. This was on an ordinary weekday.

Months later, I was billed a $600 bill for horrible care, one CAT scan, and some pain medication. I have great health insurance, and have never been billed this much for a kidney stone visit (im originally from Pittsburgh). I’m a pretty broke college student, and have been working overtime while being a full time student to pay this bill. I’m so upset by this experience, and I highly discourage anyone from stepping foot into this hospital.

There is no true triage. This ER is truly the 1st come, 1st served. Not such a good idea if not in regard to an ambulance.

My only complaint is that the cleanliness of the rooms were not being maintained. Garbages were over flowing, my blood was still on the floor when visitors came to see the baby. I was happy with the nurses and staff. But they need better management.
