I went in frustrated because I'd been dealing with the same symptoms for a decade and wasn't feeling any better. I'd previously been diagnosed with lupus. I was seen by a third-year resident, Dr. Two (I don't think this is spelled correctly, but this is phonetically his name.) Now, if you couldn't tell by this point, let me take a moment to clarify: I am not the usual type of patient this hospital sees. I have a graduate degree, I'm frequently academically published and I am considered at the top of my field. I guest lecture all over the world and several of my closest friends are household name celebrities. However, as I was transitioning to different insurance and I was not certain whether or not I was actively covered, and I was born at the previous Carl Albert Clinic, my mother convinced me to go here when my symptoms began worsening. Dr. Two ridiculed me and said my testing (to which I'd never had access) didn't show any support for lupus. He basically told me I was being dramatic and there was nothing wrong with me. He finally said that maybe I should be referred for an MRI, but, in short, that it was probably a waste of time. He was rude and arrogant and was clearly trying to make me feel worthless. Unfortunately for him, he didn't know my background. The next week, once I was certain my insurance had kicked in, I went to my regular physician and she agreed to order the MRI. Turns out I have multiple sclerosis--a 6mm hypertension of my left parietal and significant narrowing of the myelin sheath at C1, C2, C3, and C4. Had I listened to Dr. Two and allowed him to make me feel like I didn't deserve to be treated, I would probably have gone without a diagnosis for much longer while my symptoms continued to worsen. I do not know who makes the decision about whether residents can graduate, but I would suggest they send Dr. Two back to year one and maybe the next go-round he'll lose some of the arrogance and learn a bit of proper bedside manner.
Baby girl was born here. On 1.3 19.
Dr. Nwankwo is the man!
The entire nursing staff is super friendly.
Got us what we needed and asked for.
They care for your child. Im a first time parent and they answered every question and went into detail.
The rooms are super clean and the food is pretty good as well. There was not a worker who we encountered who was unfriendly or unhelpful.
Thank everybody so much!
It's always a great day to be Chickasaw. Chikasha saya...
Had an appointment in August with cardiologists from Hospital in Texas...Over the phone appointment Had to cancel Because my mom who's alone different state had a heart attack & luckily fast action and great surgeon she survived but I had to stay care for her almost 2 months..Come back to rein state my test and cardio tells me cannot do my test because further reading my file's I'm a risk now ...So go back to Texas hospital. You would think with my medical history and what happened to my mom would be a clue.Guess start making funeral arrangements.
I arrived at 3:30 PM. Appointment was at 4 PM. I have been waiting almost 2 hours for an MRI when no one has walked in for and exam since 4:45PM. This is the most rediculous thing I have ever seen in my life. Upon checking with the reception again. I was told no longer than 15 more minutes. Thats was at 5:15 PM. It is 5:55 PM and just now got called back to do what should have happened by 4:30 PM.
