They were very kind to me. I came in with severe excruciating back pain and they gave me pain meds and I left with prescriptions for a narcotic pain killer and a muscle relaxant. Be prepared to wait for a long time though. I was there for an hour and a half before even being seen. I was there for a total of three hours. I do wish they had given me a pain pill while I was waiting as I was crying in pain. But I guess they wanted to examine me before they gave me anything.
So I go to the hospital with excruciating back pain and a low grade fever. Unable to walk. I sit in the waiting room for an hour. People are coming in after me and going in before me. Finally I go back and sit in a chair no bed! The nurse comes in and takes vital signs. Leaves and nobody come back for 30 min. Finally Leah the PA comes in with her nasty attitude. She doesn't even examine me. No x-ray, no urine test. Asks me what helps my back pain. Of course as soon as I tell her Percocet she's gives me attitude and says the ER doesn't hand out opiods! She can give me them while I'm in the ER but no prescription. She made me feel like a drug seeker which I am not! I just want the pain to go away! Finally the nurse comes back and gives me 1 prednisone and 1 Percocet and discharges me even though my pain level was still a 10. Really? If they think I'm paying this bill they're crazy! I will never go to this hospital again!!
Although my stay was in January of this year, I will never forget the kindness that was shown to me. When I went to the emergency room I was treated with respect and concern. The staff was very attentive to my needs. Once I was admitted and taken my room the level of care that I received was top notch. Every physical complaint was examined. X-rays and/or blood work was done with in a day of complaint. Physical therapy excelled in their care of me. The food was good. But most of all the help I received for my particular situation was above and beyond the scope of what was expected. And I am very grateful!!!
Prepare for a 1-hour check-in since the hospital doesn't use any of the same computer systems. People are friendly when they eventually come off their breaks and are able to get to you. Apparently borrowing a dime from each other is a more important discussion than checking people in.
To make things better, at 8:50 am, the medical imaging dept was already 30 minutes behind schedule. At least I wasn't dying so was able to write this glowing review.
Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Clean hospital.
