Was told to arrive at 6.30am for surgery. No one came to me until about 8am. I was told that there’s a compulsory meeting on the third Thursday, monthly. I was then rushed through. Why schedule that time if nobody is available? Although the pre op care was rushed, it was good. The post operative care was a different story. I had to eat food before leaving. I’m diabetic and all they offered was a rice crispy treat or cookies. I was supposed to get a stomach binder after surgery. I questioned this a few times but the nurse kept saying that the doctor didn’t want me to have one and had his own reasons for that. I called the doctors the next day and they were aghast that I wasn’t given one. My husband had to pick one up from the office. The nurse seemed oblivious to the fact that I’d just had stomach surgery and really hurt me with careless moving. She kept leaving the cubicle then came back and tried to rush everything. She forgot to lock the wheels on the wheelchair so I almost went flying-more pain. She suggested that I go home in the hospital gowns and take the blanket and pillow with me. I felt very rushed and could hardly stay awake. She wheeled me downstairs and I said that I needed the restroom. She stated that I can’t go there. I told her that it was that or a gas station on the way home and I’m wearing a hospital gown and socks. She said that I’ll just have to go at the gas station 😳. I’m not impressed with this facility.
Very impressed with this hospital. Lots of volunteers to help guide you. The registration process was easy and very pleasant. All the nurses were excellent in their care and advice. I would highly recommend East Cooper Medical Center if you need to have surgery.
Had surgery here. Service was quick, professional, and kind. Couldn't have asked for better service. They we're very accommodating by getting me warm blankets when I was freezing, using numbing I'm my hand before putting in the IV, which was a welcoming difference to prior surgeries, and more.
Just went to the ER after my six-year-old injured her wrist. Everyone from registration, to nursing and Dr. Sorrell made her feel so comfortable. The care was both compassionate and efficient and the service was excellent. I would highly recommend East Cooper ER for all of your emergency care.
MRI appointment horrible experience. Scheduled appointment and you still have to go through the typical process of being admitted in to the hospital. Waiting in line just to take your name, then getting called up to fill out paperwork, back to the waiting room, getting called up to sit down with the insurance specialist, back to the waiting room again, then finally getting called up to go get the scan done. Then the best part. Apparently they don't even have their own MRI machines right now so they have a mobile unit out back. And of course during my scans they come in and tell me the machine is not working correctly and they're going to try and restart it. And of course this does not work. After all said and done, this was a waste of two hours of my day and using leave from work for a scan that takes approximately 25 minutes at an imaging practice. Save your time and request an appointment somewhere else like a imaging speciality practice.
